Called in for a pint and reflection after attending the funeral if an old mate of mine. I used to frequent this pub as a regular from the late 60's to the early 80's and called in for a pint and to remember the good old days. Although the pub, like many over a period of years has changed, much of the interior is the same as it was back in the day. I wondered if I would see any of my old friends and aquaintances there but alas no. Instead, a couple of old geezers like myself popped in during the time I enjoyed a refreshing pint of real ale. The service was friendly and the choice of ales sufficient so I definitely wouldn't complain. I didn't try the food, but I have enjoyed it at other times in the last few years. All in all it's not a bad place and I will call in from time to time when I'm in town and fancy a break from the hustle and bustle of Hereford city center. It was also good to reflect on many happy times spent there during my...

Far and away the best pub in the City. Let’s not over complicate things - there are three things that make a great pub: good beer, good food and a good atmosphere. And the Lichfield Vaults does all three perfectly. There are always five or six real ales, all kept and served perfectly, and the food is absolutely excellent. A predominantly Greek menu with a selection of other dishes available. Always a warm welcome from the landlord or from his staff who, unusually in pubs nowadays, actually know what they are doing. If you are in town and you fancy a spot of lunch, there really is nowhere better you can go. And just to round it off, they serve the best sausage sandwich in the county. If...

We were a group who had just come from the cathedral and enjoyed a lovely organ concert and we wanted to top off the evening with a drink. The common bar maid was rude and crass. She did not know what a cognac was and had to ask her boss and then became belligerent and angry when we asked for a cabernet. This is a low class place. A counsel estate girl in short shorts, low cut shirt, and a bad mouth may work for some but not those with money to spend. This could be a really quaint little spot. Great location but if you're coming from church I wouldn't...

We went here for lunch, and had a lovely time. The landlord is a great guy and super friendly, and bought over a printout with the history of the pub since I was busy taking photos. Which I thought was very nice of him. They have a good range of beers and wines, and the food is mediterranean. We had the tasting platter, and a couple of other dishes which were more than enough for the three of us to share. It was quite quick and very tasty, and I especially loved the big beans! I would definitely go back!

We didn’t eat here we stopped just for few drinks and they have a very friendly staff and local beers and drinks. You should try the local beers. The place is a very traditional pub with a plenty space for big groups of people in sunny and warm days you can sit outside the pub and enjoy the view of a very traditional street with small shops along the way. Prices are fair for what you get.

Stopped in for a bite of breakfast. A bit late maybe, 11ish. Food didn't start until 12. I ordered a traditional coffee, like gpa would have, sat and read until the sausage and mash came. Next to the coal fire, it was all very good. Staff was excellent, friendly and accommodating.
