Leaven Pizza — Restaurant in England

I was having a walk around town and looking for a quick bite to eat.. I walked past this place and it looked busy from outside. I quickly had a look on my Google reviews and noticed it is rated highly.

Lucky I didn't have to wait long for a table, I was seen straight to my seat. I would recommend booking in advanced for big groups.

I was on a bit of a sharp time frame and had to be somewhere not long after having food. I was served my food about 20-25 minutes after sitting down, which was great considering how busy it was.

I had the special pizza "Goats cheese & caramelised onion", calamari and a homemade lemonade which was really fresh and lovely.

The calamari was beautifully cooked and not burnt, so it wasn't rubbery. The breadcrumbs were so fluffy and didn't fall off everywhere.

The pizza was massive and very reasonable for the size and quality. For me it was cooked great as the pizza base wasn't soggy and not too crispy. The toppings were lovely and fresh. A nice touch to get a pizza cutter as cutlery. At the side next to the sky you had oil if you wanted that. I really enjoyed the pizza and the whole experience. I’ve eaten at Leaven many times, but never taken time to leave a review. Don’t take my words lightly when I say this is the best pizza in the West Midlands at the very least, perhaps beyond. The vibes in the venue are absolutely immaculate, it’s always super clean, with great music whilst maintaining a cozy, intimate ambience. The staff always make you feel so welcome, and are friendly and familiar without being overbearing. Nothing is too much trouble and they’re so knowledgeable about the menu and always give such great recommendations.

But what about the food? Unreal. The pizza is divine, served fast and hot and always hits the spot. At first I’d tell you my favourite is the Fungi, rich and decadent; but honestly you can’t beat the OG Margerita, the benchmark of good pizza and damn, do those guys nail it. If you’re feeling a little spicy I like to order some hot honey to go with it. Not to mention the tiramisu which SLAPS.

The restaurant is good value, honest and wholesome and I couldn’t recommend a better restaurant, let alone pizzeria in Hereford,...

I recently took my mum here for a birthday treat and she hasn't stopped talking about her experience since! We were greeted by Amber who welcomed us with a warm smile and lovely energy. She continued to be at hand throughout the meal ensuring we were well looked after alongside her colleague who also did the same. The service was quick, professional, and unobtrusive which was ideal. Coming from a design background, I thoroughly enjoyed the interior design & art direction; alot of thought, effort and consideration had clearly gone into it and it shows with the calming, yet vibrant atmosphere in there. We enjoyed a delightful pizza each with a couple of sides and homemade drinks, which were incredible by the way! I'm not saying this lightly - we were all in agreement that the pizza was the best we've ever had. We can't wait to go back there again to try out more of the menu but to anyone thinking of booking in for a meal - do it, you'll be happy you did! Beautiful place, food & people, thank you again...
