Reply How you associated my review with those specific circumstances is unclear, but my review will stand. And for clarity, I did not order a 'round' of drinks. I ordered one drink with a member of your team, who turned around to another member of staff, gestured to me and I repeated my order. They both brought me the same drink and when I explained the very simple misunderstanding, your staff were confrontational and aggressive. This could have been resolved in a far more amicable and customer centric manner, but your staff chose to instead escalate an otherwise calm situation up until that point. No one should be expected to pay for the same drink twice, especially when the circumstances were reasonably clear and understandable. Forcing someone to leave your establishment on this basis was hugely disappointing, I have always had a good time at Gordon Bennetts previously and had been saying as such to my friends who had travelled from out of town for a night out in Hereford. I review Gordon Bennetts as not just a punter but as a musician who regularly entertains the punters there. I cannot fault this place. Staff, brilliant and the atmosphere, electric. Drinks are always high quality and I've never had a bad pint. I can't speak for their food, nor do I even know if they serve food, but if they do, and if it's anything like the service and beverage range and quality, it would likely be high quality. As a musician, it's one hell of a music venue. Packed, lively, sweaty and loud. A gloriously atmospheric explosion of energy, joy, appreciation and that very rarest of things, a unified love of live music. Everyone in there on a Friday, Saturday and some Sundays, they're there for 3 things. Drink Dance Fun. Drink can sometimes cause trouble. On the very rare occasion I've seen trouble, security instantly diffuses the situation. They're not heavy handed either. Professional and measured. Visited about a month or so ago, thought it seemed like a nice place for a few drinks with the family, but there were people openly dealing drugs in the toilets, i informed the bar staff but noone seemed to care about it had the attitude of "not my problem cant do anything". I had my 18 year old daughter with me so of course i wasnt happy about sticking around. Went back with my daughter last friday just for a quick stop and she pointed out a couple of people she knew from college who were not old enough to be drinking anywhere. Shame because there is potential for this place but i wont rush...
