Stayed on Thursday & Friday, 26-27/06/25 with my adult son. Check-in was easy, and the receptionist was friendly and clear in terms of the details of where we would be staying, which was the separate converted stable block at the rear. Parking was free for residents. The room in the stable block was a twin and clean, if a little dated. The 3 plug sockets were all located on the wall opposite the beds, which was a pain. The window security was a block of wood to stop the window from being slid open. Breakfast was a mix of continental and hot items that you ordered. I've never had fresher/warm Danish pastries for breakfast anywhere. Happy to stay again. Had a meal whilst staying at the hotel on Thursday, 26/06/25. It was quiet, so I didn't need to book. Being a converted house, both the hotel and bar/restaurant areas are quite quaint, if not ideal, as layouts for either. Service for drinks before being seated was quick, though the prices were comparable to those in London, which was an unwelcome surprise. We eat regularly at Green King run pubs, and the menus are the same at each. Still, the menu had recently been changed, and this was our first experience of that new menu. I have to say it was very disappointing as items had been removed (3 x dirty chip portions for £15, for example) and prices had been raised dramatically across the menu for the items that remained. This isn't this particular restaurant's fault, but it was still a shock. What we ordered was delivered quickly, and the service was good. You could eat outside in the larger garden area at the front or in the converted hallway. We chose the hallway. There was a new combo menu to save on cost, but the mains and drinks were very limited if you chose from it. Overall, a decent experience, but I will be eating a lot less at Green King pubs given the menu change henceforth.

Stayed here over night as was working nearby in yetminster. The hotel was really easy to find, plenty of parking, close to the centre and full of history (ps if you're staying you don't need to pay for parking so don't make the mistake I did) The staff of the restaurant were really friendly, professional and attentive so high praise there. The food was reasonable. I had garlic mushrooms for starters and then a goats cheese tart which was delish with a wine for £24 which was reasonable. There was actually a valentine event on when I stayed there and the restaurant was fully booked, but luckily I managed to get a table before hand! I stayed in a single room which was comfortable and clean albeit a little dated..... unfortunately the hotel was quite loud. You could hear everything, from people walking down the hallway, the doors closing and opening, the noise from the restaurant and from the bar (probably not helped by the valentine's event) but I guess you have to be mindful as it is an old building - But could maybe do with some soundproofing? or make sure you book a room that isn't over the restaurant/bar or main stairwell like mine was. Also my toilet dripped continuously throughout the night which was frustrating, but all reported the next morning and the staff were very apologetic. I followed up my stay with a vegetarian breakfast the next morning. It didn't disappoint and was the perfect start for the day. Overall a good stay, a very interesting building full of history which was interesting reading at 1am....... the staff were very pleasant and the food was really lovely! I would stay again- I would just be mindful of where my room was in future. :)

Hadn't been to the Manor in years, even though I live in the town, and 10 mins away. Was looking for a last minute chance to celebrate Christmas with some friends, and put a good end to a very challenging year. Thought I had left way too late until I contacted The Manor Hotel, bless them. They had been running Christmas parties each night since the start of December. They offered Friday 23rd as the last chance to party and was so glad to snap it up too. Had a lovely set three course meal each, with options outside of the usual Christmas choices too. Party was in a private suite in the hotel, away from general public too, with it's own bar, seating and dance floor/lights. Great Christmas decorations throughout hotel too. Serving staff and bar staff all polite, engaging and helpful. Kept very busy too, bless. Then danced the night away after meal. Our seating was set too close to DJ at the start of evening so moved tables and chairs back to accommodate us better. Music choices were somewhat eclectic too as DJ seemed to be trying to appeal to too many ages. In amongst it all though, got to kick off and boogie. Music could be requested too. Not all lost. Overall a thoroughly good last minute booking made. Thanks to Nicky and Matt for helping me book things up at short notice and great to meet Nicky too on the night. Lovely lady.

Stayed here for one night ahead, whilst visiting family in Yeovil. This place is clearly understaffed and under resourced. Check in was a frustratingly slow affair. The check in desk is literally right next to the main entrance, and is a single desk and you’re right in the way of the main hallway when queuing. The poor guy in front of me was stood waiting for a long time to be welcomed, whilst continually pressing the call bell for attention. Finally, my turn arrived and check in was actually quite seamless, when a staff member did appear. ||My room, a “superior room” was in the main building, room 7. On first initial impressions, the room was quite nice. Large, with a large bathroom and wardrobe space. But sadly, on closer inspection, the room was in very poor order. The taps on the sink were largely none functional. The shower temperature couldn’t be increased, only decreased. There were toiletries (shower gel) provided, but every single one of the bottles were empty. The one hanging in the shower, the one left discarded next to the one hanging up, and the one on the sink. The room had early signs of black mould on the ceiling next to the window frame, where a damp issue or leak clearly hasn’t been addressed (pictured). ||The bed was comfortable however. It was good to see a nice selection of tea and coffee in the room, too. However, the basics of a good hotel room are immaculate cleaning, a high quality shower with toiletries and working facilities - which this room lacked. For a superior room, it was disappointing. ||Despite not having enough, the staff I encountered were friendly and polite, if looking a little overstretched. I had a few drinks at the bar, which were nice. Although being a Green King pub and asking for a Green King IPA and being told it was off was a little amusing. The Guinness I had instead was nice, though! ||Added a star for breakfast. It was superb. All freshly cooked to order and delivered to the table, along with a nice selection of fruit juice, continental options and coffee to self serve was nice and very good value for money. However, the accommodation here left a lot to be desired I’m afraid. I’d return for breakfast alone, but wouldn’t stay here overnight again based on the quality of the room and the price paid. It’s back to the Premier Inn for me, sadly. ||If I could offer some advice, get the basics right in the room. Make sure everything works and be proactive in fixing them. The issues I found are clearly issues that have been there for a while. I’d be amazed if they hadn’t been pointed out before by other guests. The room felt old, and not is a good historic way. It...

I'll start with the best thing - the staff. I had the warmest welcome by such a friendly woman on reception. She was smiley, polite, chatty and helpful.

Secondly, I went down and asked another member of staff at 11pm if I could move rooms due to some other guests being noisy and banging doors in the corridor. She was very apologetic and found me another room in a quieter part of the hotel without issue. I was very pleased with how this situation was handled and would 1000% return again just for the staff/service alone.

On the note of the banging doors, I do think that perhaps some changes could be made to make the room doors smoother/easier to close so that they don't bang as loudly. It's an old hotel too so creaky floorboards along the corridor may not be ideal for very light sleepers (like myself). I don't know how possible it would be, but better soundproofing of the rooms would really make this hotel the ideal place to stay for a sound night's sleep. I did sleep so much better once I had moved to the Stable block (quieter part). Apologies to any other guests who I may have disturbed in the process of moving rooms, I did try to do so quietly.

The rooms are comfy and cosy. Super soft and clean carpets that are very well looked after. Both rooms all over were just spotless. Everything I needed in the room. Lovely bathrooms in both with nice heated towel rails and plenty of towels. Great power showers. My first room was just perfect - could not have asked for better. Very roomy, nice king-sized bed, huge bathroom. The second just lacked a bit of attention to detail and was a little dated, but fully functional for all intents and purposes. Given that it was a bit of a 'downgrade' in some respects, I do feel it may have been nice to have been offered a little bit of a refund. Nevertheless, it was my choice to move rooms and I am very grateful for the fact that I could.

Quiet, convenient location - very close to town. The only thing I will say is that as a non-local it felt a little scary/unsafe walking alone there in the dark. Not the fault of the...
