Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

The staff here wouldn't know quality service or brand standard if it got up and started dancing on their dirty tables. I've been in a few times, and quite frankly I am unimpressed with their service. The last time I went in, I was the first customer in the queue, they took my order at the till and I went to stand by the side to collect my drink.

After me, the shop started to become busy and more people were placing orders. The guy on the machine, seemed very cocky and insisted he could remember all the orders. I ordered two drinks, one in a take out and the other for staying in. Three orders were completed before he even started my order, and even then he got it wrong so I had to remind him- considering I was first in the queue i find this disgraceful. As I was in a rush, i left my friend with her drink to stay in and I let with my hot chocolate, or rather 'cold' chocolate. There was barely any chocolate in there at all and it was lukewarm. It's hard to review a shop that makes coffee, but here goes.. the coffee was served in a tall glass cup along with two rounds of toast on a small plate.. I did however think that the little glass pot of strawberry jam was a nice touch, it made me feel much better about paying more for coffee than what a pint would cost me in weatherspoons.. when we'd eventually found a seat, I asked my wife why the place was so busy. She said that Costa in Northwich was the place to be seen and locals such as Gary Barlow of Take That often pop in for a brew..infact on the day we were there I spotted Dean Sutton of Sutton's Hair Dressers on Witton street, this man styled Tim Burgesses hair of the Charlatans back in the 90's.... The staff are very friendly and very efficient and there are nice varied seating arrangements to relax and have a chat or just a quick coffee. There is a good selection of quick snacks and cakes if you are feeling peckish.
