Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

I normally have a good experience in Costa Redcar in Tesco, but today I asked for 2 mint mochas, which are usually my favourite this time of year, but both me and my partner felt like we were drinking mint mouth wash. There was far too much syrup in it, we couldn't taste the chocolate or coffee, it wasn't drinkable at all. So I took them back in and kindly explained that they weren't drinkable and that the mint was too strong. The young man who served me the drink in the first place didn't apologise at all and made me 2 fresh mocha's without the mint. But as he was doing so I could see him chatting and laughing to his colleague about the situation which then made me feel like I had done something wrong. I never complain if I'm not happy about something usually, as it's way out of my comfort zone, but after paying over £8 for the 2 large mochas I expect them to be drinkable. I’ve never had an issue with costa before they’ve always been amazing service but this one on skippers lane has really let costa down. There staff, a lad with tattoos and a girl in her mid 20s were so so rude towards all customers there not just myself and mother. The tables were sky high with dirty cups and plates, there was food all over the floor and the hot chocolates we had to send back as they had no flavour to them. There wasn’t much to choose from and they’re using COVID as an excuse to not use proper cups??? Really not...

Went for coffee. Friendly staff who were kept busy with a steady stream of business, both at the counter and to delivery services. However, not much of a queue formed while I sat and drank my tasty beverage due to the quick service. There were plenty of seats free. Costa is Costa and the coffee was as good as usual.
