Had a sweet treat reward to use and thought we would pop into this store. I wish we hadn't bothered. Hot Chocolate was gorgeous as it is in every other store, and the Ginger Loaf cake was divine! You can't go wrong with corporate orders or directions. However, when we walked up to the till to order, there was a gentleman serving, he then told a young woman to serve us. She then started joking about touching her bum???? The girl behind her and the man started saying something and laughing. When we were eventually asked what we wanted, the woman serving kept turning to chat to the others. I normally ask for skimmed milk, but I didn't get the opportunity. There wasn't any eye contact, thanks or a smattering of small talk. There was a queue building up and the staff just seemed to want to laugh and joke with each other rather than serving the customers. The whole place needs a freshen up and seat cushions need to be cleaned. There are a lot of stains on them. The toilet is just nasty. The manager was in his office chatting to someone on the phone with his door wide open. Not good if you are discussing personal or confidential matters. I have been in many stores that I would return to multiple times, this one, I don't think so. There are so many independent coffee shops on this street and I would rather pay more to eat and drink in those. I'll keep my rewards for the...
Read moreWent to come in for a quick drink, decided to use the loo beforehand and a worker (believe it was the manager) came up asking if myself and my friends were going to be purchasing a drink. We mentioned we were however we wanted to go to the loo beforehand, he came up again asking that the loo is really for customers and again we mentioned we wanted to use the loo before making a purchase. He approached us a 3rd time and acted rude and argumentative, whilst we were waiting patiently in line to use the loo.
If the shoe was on the other foot I can understand mentioning the loo is for customers initially, however acting aggressively and argumentative upon multiple approaches before even giving us the chance to make any purchases is not what I expected from a chain such as Costa and really shows how they treat people upon a short stay.
Needless to say we didn't make a purchase after being put off by the staff member, believe he was wearing glasses and don't intend...
Read moreLove this coffee shop!!! Always clean and tidy. Tables are always cleared quickly. Friendly and inviting. I had to nurse my baby, and most places, although they 'allow' it, dont like it. Costa, however cpuldnt make myself and my daughter feel more welcome. We we're told to take a seat and coffee was brought over to me as baby was crying, and whilst nursinf, the barrista asked if there was anything i needed, offered a glass of water, and said if theres anything i need, dont hesitate ti give her a wave. As a nursing mother, its lovely to not feel alienated for doing whats natural. Big tip left in the pot, as all the staff were friendly. Think ive found my new...
