NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN Mokka has become a firm favourite with Jethro and we have dined with you several times since September 2022. We visited on a quiet Tuesday evening in early January. Long story short, we ordered 2 burgers and 2 cocktails The chips arrived and only 50% were in my opinion edible. The plate was covered with crispy bits and pieces, that I would normally expect to see in the bin. They were replaced with no significant apology from the Waitress. Later I was asked what was was wrong with them by another staff member, this was the Assistant Manager this was for "Feedback" purposes. When I asked her if she couldnt see a significant problem with the chips, she claimed she could not. I was initially baffled by her response and then became beyond irriated by her by"The Script" you tell me whats wrong with them approach. The waitress did verbally say there us 20% of the bill, but again no significant apology. The Assistant Manager was noticeable with her lack of presence when we left. I did notice she was straight onto clearing our table after we left. The chips should have been replaced with an apology and option of free deserts or some other gesture of good will. The Assistant Manager should have accepted the customers concerns and just agreed the chips were not up to the usual standard. I raised my concerns with the manager by email. The response was as disappointing as the chips. He agreed and supported the brainless feedback process and offered a £10 voucher. Deeply...
Read moreVisited Mokka for the first time on a weekday evening. In all honesty the service was very good, our waitress was very attentive; unfortunately this wasn't backed up by the quality of beers nor food!
The on-tap beer selection is poor, and the menu isn't as extensive as Social Media would perhaps make you believe. We opted for six small plates between us but generally were disappointed with the quality of the food. The Patatas Bravas was watery, deep fried brie akin to something Peter Andre or Kerry Katona would advertise, pigs in blankets were small with dry bacon and undercooked sausages served in a strange honey water concoction, chorizo was far too sweet and the Gambas Pil Pil seemed to be completely missing garlic. In fairness, the Korean Chicken was well presented and tasty.
As a result, we left thinking the food was very much below average with a poor taste in our mouths, like something you'd expect from a large discount chain at a fraction of the cost (nearly £50 for two). Keynsham is spoilt for choice when it comes to cafe/bars so I'd readily choose Bonzo, Dalia or Grounded ahead of Mokka for my next...
Read moreWent to try Mokka for the first time today. Upon entering a male member of staff ask me if I had a booking. I said no, he said do you want breakfast. I said no just drink with cake or a sandwich. We sat down no menu on the table he came over to ask for drinks order. His attitude absolutely stank! He was so rude, when we ask to see a menu to be able to see what sandwiches or cakes he had. He said what for drinks and tapped the menu on the table. A completely arrogant attitude that has no place in a service industry position. After that we had not interaction with him again. The blonde girl that then served us was lovely. However very unsure of why a toasted tea needed to be covered in icing sugar and did not state that on the menu. We also had to ask to remove the optional service charge there was no option to do this discretely on the card machine. The girl attitude to this also stank! But the service we received today did not deserve a gratuity. We will not be back! The staff attitude is hurting what could be a...
