I am compelled to express my dissatisfaction after my recent visit to Costa, where the level of service and cleanliness was notably subpar. The scene behind the counter was disheartening, with the majority of the five staff members disengaged from their duties, including some engrossed in personal conversations at the till. This disregard for customer service was disconcerting and not what one expects from a reputable establishment.
The condition of the seating area further compounded my disappointment. Despite numerous vacant tables, not one was adequately clean or prepared for new customers. It was apparent that while the staff did collect trays, they neglected the essential task of cleaning the tables afterward. This oversight in basic hygiene and customer care is not only unwelcoming but also raises serious questions about the establishment's cleanliness standards.
This experience compels me to urge the management team at Costa to address these glaring issues promptly. The staff's apparent lack of initiative in maintaining a clean and inviting environment reflects poorly on the management and the overall brand. Customers should not have to contemplate bringing their own cleaning supplies to a professional establishment, a sentiment that speaks volumes about the current state of affairs.
I hope this feedback is received in the spirit of constructive criticism, with sincere hopes for immediate and substantial improvements in both service and...
Read moreAVOID! Dont waste your money at this branch! Being an ex costa employee it really annoys me how bad this store is. Its not just one occasion but every time I have been in there. My first issue was they charged me 3 times for oat milk (I went back three times and said this isn't oat milk) they remade my drink with blue, then tell me after the third time making it they dont even have any oat milk (I was still an employee at this point so i was shocked but keep my cool) and they didnt even offer me something else just kepy charging me for oat!!! And no i didnt get a new drink or my money back i gave up and left! Theres an older lady who works there, she is very very rude. She made my drink and I saw the thermometer go upto 200!!! I saw and asked kindly please that will burn me I asked for “not to hot” at 135 degrees.. 150 being brand standard. She then tells me thats standard so I kindly said I actually work for costa and thats definitely not brand standard and the milk would be burnt and would burn my mouth.. but i could go on and on. I definitely will not be going back to this store as every time its awful, thankfully I have found a new store at tesco in wokingham. They...
Read moreI had a really bad experience at Costa in Bracknell Lexicon that left me and my 12-year-old son shocked.
He noticed a game advertised as “50p to play, money goes to charity, chance to win a prize.” We’ve played something similar at other Costa stores, where the money goes into a visible charity pot and the game feels fair. But here it was completely different.
The staff charged 50p and put it straight into the till — not into any charity pot. The “game” was just a bowl of coffee beans with stirrers, we played twice and blank so had a feeling of checking but when I checked, every single stirrer was blank. There was no real chance of winning, so customers are being misled.
When I questioned this, the staff member said it was “for charity” and that she’d “fix it.” She disappeared into the back and never came back. On top of this, my order was also 70p short until I pointed it out.
This looks and feels like a scam — Costa making money under the pretense of raising funds for charity. If this is genuinely for charity, there should be a transparent collection pot and a fair system. As it stands, customers are being deceived, and doing this in the name of charity is...
