What can I say about this little place? We walked miles to sample the good in here, seeing as vegan food is such a rare thing in Blackpool.
The atmosphere is immense. Music is fab. The owner is a lovely guy, could not be any more personable and friendly.
Sadly, it was super busy and he was on his own and appeared to be under a bit of pressure. We couldn't get anything other than jerk chicken, rice and peas. Which, was a great shame, as we had hoped to sample the cheese steak.
The service was slow....and I mean really slow. It appeared that only one table could be prepared at a time and each order was taking about 40 minutes to come to the front of house. People were waiting around to order as there was no front of house and people were waiting to pay because the owner was making food in the kitchen. It felt a bit chaotic, and that's a shame because it literally could be one of the most lovely little places I've ever been. I'm sure it's because someone was off sick and the lovely man was doing it all on his own, but nevertheless, it wouldn't be an honest review if I missed out the not so good bits of the experience.
When the rice did come I have to be honest and say it was one of the best meals I've ever had in my life. A complete taste sensation. Huge portion. Perfectly seasoned and crammed with flavours. Honestly, I cannot recommend it enough.
I'm definitely going to go back when it's less busy and sample more of this delicious food.
If you're in blackpool and sick of fried burgers and frozen chips....head here and experience what this quirky little cafe has to offer. You won't be...
Read moreWhen I eat out, the experience is just as important as the food. I want to feel like an old family friend. I want the ambience to allow my thoughts to wander as I peruse the decor and absorb the thoughtfully chosen music. If I don't catch myself smiling then I'm not really being catered for. The Cosy Jazz Cafe not only covers all my wants...but embellishes them with easy but interesting chatter. Nobody in the cafe felt unable to join in the conversations if so inclined..or judged wanting if they chose to keep their own company. It is a cafe of personal energy........ And then the food arrived! I cannot begin to speak eloquently enough to communicate the quality of this food. What I will simply tell you is that after the meal was finished, I couldn't bring myself to eat anything until later the next day....purely because everything, in comparison to this man's cooking, is dull and tasteless. A genuine gift of...
Read more4stars is for being all vegan in Blackpool which is unheard of. And person working there was lovely.
The location isn't great a bit away from everything but easy enough to find.
The coffee was just not good. No microfoam. Taste wasn't good. Sitting in with a paper cup. Choc cake was nice but not what I expected. Served in cardboard box. The pics on reviews showed it on a plate with strawberries and cream. But...£6 for coffee and cake is good value in an indy cafe!
I was going to sit and do some work for a couple of hours but the only other customers seemed to be on a date with 1 playing guitar at the other so it wasn't the right vibe.
I think I'd recommend it more for the evening for food and lunch if you have a group. Weird vibe for solo cafe in the afternoon...
