Booked in on Saturday and got a very warm welcome on a very wet day. Party of 5 including a wheelchair user. It is essentially a great big play area divided into zones. First thing we saw were the bunnies in their plant pots and a gorgeous owl in the tree. Plenty of room for both wheelchair users and those with pushchairs. It was a bit on the noisy side but that's a good thing. Lots of children having a fabulous time. If you do have anyone with noise issues then ear defenders would be perfect. The little ones loved it. Whether making their own kind of music, matching symbols or looking at the wonderful paintings on the walls they thought it was magical. The play area like the garden was a hit. Small slides, hidden burrows and carrots to climb through. Bit dark for pics but the kids didn't want to move on. Staff were great at answering questions and were really ' in the zone' with the kids. Once we did move into the next area the paint the animals section was a huge hit. Choose your character on a screen, add your colours and save and voila, a cheeky wink and your character came to life ! We had to do them all. Add in the light spinning boxes with animals running round in them, matching items and not forgetting following the recipes and making Mrs Rabbit recipe creations. Yes it is aimed at younger children but seemed perfectly matched to the age group it's designed for. We were on the 12.15 show, yes it is more of a meet and greet but really well handled. We had worried about getting in and out with the scooter but we watched from near the door and were straight out after our pic. Very well organised. Peter was very cute and happy for cuddles. The entertainers had a lot of enthusiasm both whilst waiting outside and when in the meeting area. Shop had lots of choices both big and small, from little rabbits to go on the wrist and larger items like book sets and watering cans. 20% off if your a Merlin pass holder was an extra surprise. We were in about an hour including show and shop, similar to the 'add on' attractions like dungeons etc. Kids were ready for toilet and a drink and lunch by this time so we were okay to leave without too many moans. Would we go again - yes we would I know it was opening weekend and staff were happy to hear feedback, maybe tweek the timings so if people want to stay a little longer they have the option but we felt it was just right for us. Only other comment would be another character would be nice for a meet and greet. Personally Jemima would have our vote but we love all the characters so any...
Read moreThis experience was great fun for the kids, it's so interactive and there is something for every interest - colouring and virtual painting, music making, small slide and climbing area etc. Definitely for small children imo, I wouldn't take a child older than maybe 7 really, unless they had a specific interest in Peter Rabbit. The staff were lovely, very helpful and meeting Peter Rabbit at the end is nice. The member of staff who brought him out (think her name was Emma), was really good, she puts lots of effort into getting the kids excited to see him and making sure every child is involved. You can have a picture taken at the end, however my eldest was afraid to get too close to Peter Rabbit 🤣 so we left that bit out. They were handing out badges at the end which my girls liked as well. The shop is at the beginning and end, so you can buy before or after the experience, maybe a little on the pricier side if you're trying to keep a low budget but not necessarily more expensive that any Peter Rabbit merch you would buy anywhere else. There is a pram park at the beginning so you can drop prams, bags etc. This is 'at your own risk' and easily accessible from the outdoors so you have to take that chance but there is a member of staff close by so we didn't see a problem leaving our things there. However, there was plenty of space inside for prams, even a double, so you could also take them in. The experience lasts about 45 mins as stated on the website and this is an adequate amount of time to get around to everything. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this experience and would recommend it to anyone with young children. We didn't manage to get many pictures as we were all having fun, will...
Read moreWhilst you can see the effort the venue has gone to for an experience, the size of the venue is tiny, and the number of activities are limited.
Mr McGregors' garden is particularly tiny comprising of a single tunnel, and a ramp leading past big carrot columns to a small double slide.
The interactive games are OK (the painting and ingredient tasks particularly) and the steel pan type things at the start were well received by my child, but there really wasn't enough of everything, or more activities, or more scale, to be there for any longer than 30 minutes.
I suppose this plays in to the goal of getting you in and out sharpish, as they give you a time slot for the show at the end which isn't much beyond 30 minutes from your entry time.
The girl who performed the show was very good and probably the highlight as she really captured the children's attention and imagination.
I wish they'd make the venue larger, or more varied and improved activities, to support the staff working here as it's a mismatch in how the experience is delivered - the staff are pulling the weight and the venue is letting it down.
Lastly the shop at the end, prices are high and items aren't anything you can't find anywhere else (other than the photos they take at the start of your gang as you go in).
Overall its overpriced and under delivers. If any of the performing staff read this, you are ace, but the owners need...
