I'm going to give a 3 star but at the time of writing this the staff get a 5, i used to go down here for a breakfast every week but since they have been taken over it has been really slow, i know covid is on at this time but i have been the only person ordering food in here and it has still taken about 30 minutes, i wouldn't mind but the food is not fresh, the food is your typical weatherspoons even though they have been now taken over, it takes waay too long, its ok but nothing better.
IF you want a more tastier breakfast i would suggest going to grand central or The Holmans Courtyard Cafe which is 1 minute walk up the road, both of these have freshly cooked, non frozen food.
This is a shame since i went to the isaac every week but i just cant recommend the breakfast since it takes way to long compared to the other two and they are much tastier.
If you are the owner or manager and you read this, you lost my custom, please use fresher ingredients or a better chef and please make sure it doesn't take 30-40 minutes when im just the only...
Read moreHave just got back from a meal at the Isaac Merritt since it changed ownership and I was not impressed with the food. When we arrived we had to clear our table ourselves and saw others do the same. Not as busy as when it was under weatherspoons. When it arrived, mine could only be called warm at best and my friends burger was 4 chicken strips in breadcrumbs and all very dry. Went upstairs to use the bathroom and it obviously hadn’t been checked recently and when I went to wash my hands, there was only a dribble of water from the taps and I tried all of them. Not a first good impression, won’t be eating...
Read moreEDIT: Zero Stars! Because I put an honest review, the owner replies with lies. You (owner) do not know me & did not know when I visited this pub & had to resort to LYING to try and make this awful pub look good and me look bad. Shame on you!
Since Wetherspoons sold it, this has gone down massively. The place is dirty & needs a good clean everywhere, the glasses are stained with lipstick & smears, even after asking for it to be replaced, another dirty glass. The ale tasted like it had gone off and out of date. Hardly any customers on a Saturday night with music blaring loud. The staff didn't seem to give a damn and just wanted to close early and go home. Such a shame as it used to be a great pub. Don't...
