Paignton Beach is a lovely example of a typical English seaside resort, with a mix of long sandy beaches and coves decorated with seaweed, pebbles and surf washed rocks. On the day of our visit 2nd June 2018, The town was the busiest I've seen it for many a year, because Saturday and Sunday was one of Paigntons highlights of the year, The Paignton Airshow. Its seems the local council pulled out all the stops for this one and are to be congratulated, along with the local Police who blocked all the main roads around the town and beach area, so that pedestrians had a lovely traffic free experience, and to the dozens of security staff keeping the whole event nice and safe. The Green infront of the beach was given over to a fabulous funfair with rides and stalls to suit all tastes and kids of all ages, along with the usual candy floss, banger and burger stalls and so many more, a true gastronomic extravaganza of all things takeaway. It was a lovely sunny day and the Paignton Pier shone out like a jewel surrounded by the blue sea. The main event, the air show was spectacular with planes from World War II including our saving grace The Spitfire, along with by-planes and an American fighter bomber, all being put through they're paces by professional pilots. For me the highlight of the airshow was the fly past and manovers of the Red Arrows, when I see them it always makes me proud to British, you'd know the old goose bump thing. There were literally thousands of people there, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, it was a great day out, so if you didn't go this year, keep an eye out for next year's airshow dates, you won't be disappointed. ps if you find this review helpful, please...
