Paignton Beach is a lovely example of a typical English seaside resort, with a mix of long sandy beaches and coves decorated with seaweed, pebbles and surf washed rocks. On the day of our visit 2nd June 2018, The town was the busiest I've seen it for many a year, because Saturday and Sunday was one of Paigntons highlights of the year, The Paignton Airshow. Its seems the local council pulled out all the stops for this one and are to be congratulated, along with the local Police who blocked all the main roads around the town and beach area, so that pedestrians had a lovely traffic free experience, and to the dozens of security staff keeping the whole event nice and safe. The Green infront of the beach was given over to a fabulous funfair with rides and stalls to suit all tastes and kids of all ages, along with the usual candy floss, banger and burger stalls and so many more, a true gastronomic extravaganza of all things takeaway. It was a lovely sunny day and the Paignton Pier shone out like a jewel surrounded by the blue sea. The main event, the air show was spectacular with planes from World War II including our saving grace The Spitfire, along with by-planes and an American fighter bomber, all being put through they're paces by professional pilots. For me the highlight of the airshow was the fly past and manovers of the Red Arrows, when I see them it always makes me proud to British, you'd know the old goose bump thing. There were literally thousands of people there, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, it was a great day out, so if you didn't go this year, keep an eye out for next year's airshow dates, you won't be disappointed. ps if you find this review helpful, please...

Paignton Beach is a charming spot on the English Riviera that offers a classic seaside experience with plenty to enjoy for all ages. The sandy shoreline is wide and inviting, making it perfect for sunbathing, beach games, or a relaxing stroll by the water. The nearby Paignton Pier adds a nostalgic touch, with arcades, food stalls, and traditional amusements that bring the holiday spirit alive. The beach is conveniently located near the town centre and train station, with easy access to shops, cafés, and family attractions. While it can get quite busy during peak summer months and parking may be limited, the overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Whether you're visiting for a day or staying longer, Paignton Beach offers a delightful mix of relaxation and...

Beautiful seaside location. Has plenty to do. Beach was beautiful. We went on a hot day so it was lovely, water was clear and perfectly cold which was great to cool down. Steps leading down the the sand. Beach itself can be small and compact when the tides in but soon goes out leaving plenty of sand to sit on. Surrounded by so much to do. Amazing park right next to the beach front which even has a wheel chair accessible swing. Roller coasters for all ages. Rides and amusements along the pier. Ice cream and drink snacks everywhere. Bars with kids play parks (so good). Amusement arcades and shops all along the beach front and ple ty of places to eat. Definitely somewhere you can spend...

As you drive down the very steep hill towards the beach you almost think you could be in the South of France! The deep rich red of the beach is amazing and the beach huts beautiful pastel hues compliment the beach admirably. The promenade spans the beach. As you go further back from the promenade, there are fairgrounds and behind that towards the town are beach bars. It is kind of a cross between Weymouth, Dorset and the Riviera. Sadly as is the case with a lot of the British coast line, you can tell funding is not quite there as the town is looking tired. However I was still totally blown with the area and it would not stop me from going back.
