Hi, Popped into the Jaipur last night at about 7ish (Saturday), hardly anyone there (sign of the times) but lovely atmosphere, and big smiling welcome from owner. Have been there quite a few times over the past 4 years, always amazed at the food, the Chef is just outstanding as well as consistent. Had shish kebab starter to die for and partner ordered onion bhajis. Onion bhajis I find is always a good test of the kitchen and they were brilliant. I finished my shish and just wanted another one : ) We then had butter chicken, chicken tikka, sag bhaji, tarka daal, pilao rice and a peshwari naan. Every one of those dishes was stunningly good, way above the standard of anywhere else around here (Gurka Chef is good but too loud and busy for me and a slightly different style of cooking). I don't drink but my partner always says the house red or white is excellent (£3.99) which again reflects the philosophy and quality of the place. I love the atmosphere, small and cozy, the prices are very ok and so is the service. When we left there were about 12 other people spread over 4 tables, the food deliveries were flying out the door and and the night was still young. Can't praise it enough, especially the food, please give it a try and then tell all your friends, I need it to survive, it's just so good, too many good places have...
Read moreCame for a birthday dinner last night on a Saturday. service was a bit slow and the waitress didn’t seem to have any training. We ordered drinks (2x gin and tonics, 1x gin and lemonade) but no tonic received. This was after repeating the order for the 3rd time. Not a big deal and drank it anyway. I ordered the Chicken Tikka tandoori which I always have. Waitress asked if I wanted the mixed grill to which I said no and pointed to the chicken tikka tandoori on the menu. She wrote it down. Sadly, I received a mixed grill which she called ‘chicken tikka tandoori’. I don’t eat red meat so, once I realised there were bits of beef as well as chicken, I couldn’t carry on eating the dish (which I thought WAS tandoori). Manager rolled his eyes when I said something and took it off the bill. No apology or anything…
To top it all off, the gin alone came to £42! That’s £3.50 per single measure of Gordon’s gin - keeping in mind we didn’t receive tonic either time. They also added 3 diet cokes onto our bill which we asked to be removed as we hadn’t had them.
My friends and I have been coming to Jaipur for years but won’t be returning. Food was average (and incorrect for one of us), service was slow and lots of mistakes made. I am NEVER one to complain as I’m a waitress myself but there are much nicer curry houses to dine...
Read moreI ate with work colleagues at the Curry Cave Curry House, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, the warm ambiance and welcoming staff made me feel right at home. The menu boasts a diverse selection of curries that cater to every palate, and each dish is crafted with authentic spices and flavors.
I ordered the Lamb Rogan Josh, and it was exquisite—tender meat that melted in my mouth, paired with the perfect amount of heat. The Butter Chicken was equally amazing, creamy and rich, and left me wanting more. The naan bread was fresh and fluffy, the ideal complement to soak up all that delicious sauce.
As if the food wasn't enough to rave about, the light-hearted humor from the staff added a delightful twist to the evening. Their witty banter and charming personalities elevated the dining experience, making it feel like more than just a meal but a night out filled with fun and laughter.
Whether you're a curry aficionado or a casual diner, Curry Cave Curry House is a must-visit. I can't recommend it highly enough—fantastic food, brilliant humor, and an overall...
