Today, I visited Rufus Independent Coffee House and I was thoroughly impressed by the rock theme and overall ambiance of the place. The owner and his staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home from the moment I walked in.
One thing that really stood out to me during my visit was how they celebrating the King's Coronation this weekend. They paid tribute to the King of Rock & Roll, Mr. Elvis Presley, by creating a special menu just for the occasion.
I had the pleasure of trying "The Elvis" sandwich from this special menu, and I have to say that it was not for the faint of heart. Packed with flavour, it was a true feast for the senses and what a way to celebrate the Coronation.
“The was the King’s favorite snack. It goes without saying that it didn’t do him a whole of the good but as an occasional treat…? This is what you get…”
Overall, I was impressed by the creativity and attention to detail shown by the Rufus Independent Coffee House team. It was a unique and enjoyable experience that I won't forget...

We started visiting Rufus Independent Coffee House in Newbury and we are so happy about it. The place it is so nice and relaxing, the music is nice and just perfect sound, playing in the background. Not too loud, but you can still enjoy it, just perfect. Nice coffee, nice teas and a nice selection of crisps. The staff is super friendly and helpful! And now let me tell you about my favourites! It is not your normal chocolate fudge cake, it is especially made by someone, have no idea who for sure is a master in making cakes :))) And the pastries, oh my goodness, just so, so, so good. If you enjoy quality and a relaxing place, you have to visit this place, it is a must! Rufus is now one of my favourite places in Newbury and they are...
Read moreAfter months of wanting to try Rufus, my partner & I went there. Lovely interior and nice atmosphere. As a rock fan, I also loved the artwork.
Coffee was beautiful. Sausage rolls were tasty but difficult to tuck into as they were rock solid. Warm and a bit squidgy would've been much nicer.
Staff were polite but don't seem to be people people which is unusual given that coffee shops are very social environments. They also seemed distracted...tapping away on their phones at every opportunity rather than paying attention. As a result, they ended up bringing me the wrong cookie and forgot someone else's coffee, which gave us second hand embarrassment!
I'd probably go again but not in a hurry, as similar feedback was given 5 months ago and doesn't seem to have been acted upon.
With staff that are friendlier, more experienced in hospitality and have genuine interest in rock history, this place could...
