We went in for mother's day dinner. Food was OK but the service was terrible. Actually nearly non-existent.
They took our initial drinks order and poppadoms but after that we pretty much had to ask for everything. Had to prompt for mains, had to prompt for more drinks. No-one asked if everything was OK. Every other table got hot towels after but we didn't.....
Food was OK apart from one plate having an undercooked half chicken that had to be replaced. Mixed grill was OK but a bit greasy. Lamb chops and wings though were very good to be fair. Feedback from the rest of the table was mixed.
Disappointed that we couldn't order a half portion for our daughter too. We didn't see the kids section either and wasn't pointed out when we asked about a half portion. Ultimately we should have seen it and also seen that I had ordered a two person mixed grill but would have been nice to be prompted.
We were there well over two ours and I think only got mains after an hour and a half. Partly due to being ignored and partly due to the length of time the kitchen took. We were told they had been busy in the afternoon when we chased our food but again, maybe let us know up front?
All of this was raised with the manager who basically said it was our fault for not being ready. Not sure where he got that from when we were sat there looking hungry with empty glasses but never mind. In all fairness he took 20% off the bill which covered the Thali with the under cooked chicken but that was done with reluctance.
I would say there are better places to eat in Bedford and most likely won't visit again...
Read moreI went for dinner at Dadaji's with my partner recently, and I really enjoyed the whole experience. I have tried a few of the Indian restaraunts in the area and wasn't so impressed, but Dadaji's really blew it out the park! We had the samosa chaat, papadams and fish pakoras to start with and they were all delicious, and served in a quick and timely manner. The portions for just the starters were generous and delicious.
For mains, we had the mutton shank curry, tandoor roasted rotis, basmati rice and a quarter chicken roasted in the tandoor oven. I can recommend everything I ordered, especially the mutton curry which melted in your mouth and was packed full of flavour and spice. I have tried chaat house and I recall a lot of their dishes being spiced with the same type of seasoning mix, which resulted in a lot of food tasting the same (i.e. the cauliflower and the chaat). At Dadaji's, this was not a problem I encountered. Each dish had it's own distinctive flavour profile and it felt like I had a variety within my meal. We finished the meal with a masala chai which I highly recommed - soul reviving on a cool summer night after a big meal! Also, the chai is unlimited, so you can get refills on refills, which definitely suits me.
The ambience and overall mood of the restaraunt was really enjoyable and I felt very looked after by the staff (thank you Shariah for your kindness and looking after us!). There is a lot of variety on the menu for both food and drink and I look forward to coming back and trying more of the food soon.
I highly recommend a visit if you haven't tried...
Read moreI recently visited Dadajis , and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. Nestled in the heart of [Location], this charming spot offers a perfect start to the day.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy atmosphere. The rustic decor, combined with the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee, set the tone for a memorable breakfast.
The menu is extensive, catering to a variety of tastes and dietary preferences. I opted for the classic Eggs Benedict, and it did not disappoint. The eggs were perfectly poached, the hollandaise sauce was rich and flavorful, and the accompanying home fries were crispy and seasoned to perfection. My companion chose the avocado toast, which was beautifully presented and equally delicious, with fresh avocados and a sprinkle of feta cheese on top.
What truly stood out was the exceptional service. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food they were serving. They made excellent recommendations and ensured our coffee cups were never empty.
The overall experience was enhanced by the attention to detail – from the quality of the ingredients to the thoughtful presentation of each dish. It’s clear that [Breakfast Place Name] takes pride in every aspect of their service.
Whether you're a local or just passing through, Dadajis is a must-visit for a fantastic breakfast. I left feeling satisfied and eager to return....
