The Rose — Restaurant in England

A lovely place with lovely, friendly staff. The place has and will for a long time be the place to be in Bedford on a night out; starting from the predrinks all the way to when all the places are closing down. The drinks are affordable and singles actually taste like they have alcohol in it (so you're getting you money's worth) and the atmosphere is always lively and busy (for a reason!!) The doormen and the staff are top notch and carry the friendly and fun atmosphere throughout the day. This is definitely a top tier place to go while going out in Bedford. I also liked how they were keen to strictly follow the government guidelines during the pandemic to keep every customer and staff safe while still being an entertaining place to be. Georgia was the most amazing host of our brunch. She was smiley, quick, friendly and happy. Honestly, I think you could search the ends of the earth for a better brunch waitress, and ultimately fail. Georgia is the GOAT. When she bought our drinks over her legs moved quicker the speed of light and she didn’t spill a drop. When she collected our glasses they were picked up as quickly as a bowling alley picks up the pins after your first go. Cleared in a matter of seconds. It was truly a sight to behold.

I don’t think I’ll ever forget this experience at The Rose, it will be talked about to my future grandchildren, and mentioned in my wedding speech. And if there’s one thing I know for sure, Georgia will be invited.

Bedford is currently still lucky enough to have some pubs that are worth a visit. One, in particular, the Rose, is based on the high street. It has a traditional medieval layout, with a narrow frontage, but long and extensive interior and seems to be able to cover many basis. A lovely day retreat with good drinks and food, a sports pub with good TV access for those key moments, and a popular late night venue for the younger crowd. The key attraction though, for me, is the welcoming atmosphere created by the staff.
