i wasnāt sure whether to leave a bad review or not as i can tell this could be a very lovely place if perhaps me and my partner came on a different day or time but i feel this could be helpful for others and for this cafe to get some feedback
this was my partner and iās experience today; we came in and the atmosphere wasnāt great, we didnāt even feel comfortable speaking at a normal volume as the atmosphere felt so awkward and solemn. we then had to wait at LEAST 15 minutes for our drinks which wouldnāt be an issue if it was busy but there was only 1 other table here who had already ordered. i ordered a milkshake and didnāt even hear the blender until 10 mins after i had ordered. my boyfriend ordered a flat white and his cup was only half full and looked like the last sips of a cappuccino - not a flat white. bare in mind a flat white is a small cup anyway so the drink was only a couple sips. iām not sure if this was an issue on my end but as soon as i took a sip of my milkshake i knew it wasnāt right, it tasted as if it had been made with an alternative milk - my guess is soya. my partner also agreed with this. not only did i not like it but itās extremely dangerous as i didnāt ask for alternative milk and could have an allergy. food arrived after 20-25 mins (not sure why it took this long as it was so quiet) which i really enjoyed! however the salad didnāt even have dressing on and definitely felt half hearted especially for the wait time. the real issue we had is that my boyfriend ordered a panini which was supposed to come with a side of crisps. we overheard the waitress explain to the other table that they had run out of crisps so a discount would be put on their bill, but she didnāt say that to us. we went to pay and no discount had been put on. he payed full priced for half a coffee and the panini which had no crisps when the other table got a discount for the lack of crisps?
i know this is a long review but i understand the frustration of a bad review being left without the explanation of why so you can improve. once again im sure this can be a lovely place! but this was our experience and from start to finish it was not enjoyable:( waitress was very sweet but i felt the need to share for you and others. hopefully we just came on a bad day and you have a successful...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited here with my mum, 2 year old and baby today. The place has a cosy, quirky feel to it and from the start there was a personal and friendly service. There is an amazing selection of cakes and treats as well as hot drinks, all of which are a far better price and taste than you would get at a Costa. I had brought some snacks from home for my 2 year old to have and when I asked if they minded him eating them in the cafe they had no problem with it all. To top it all off when I asked about baby changing facilities although they didn't have any they said I could change my baby upstairs and they would make sure no one came up. This could possibly be my new favourite cafe! With its warm welcoming and scrumptious food I shall definitely be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWow! Heaven for anyone with allergies and food intolerances!! Not the usual choice of chocolate brownie or nothing. A wonderful selection of cakes to choose from and even better ........ you can actually enjoy beautiful savoury dishes as well. We loved the chicken and leek pie and the cheese and tomato tart, served beautifully with a fresh side salad, optional dressing and caramelised onion chutney. Our cakes were served with a fresh juicy strawberry. All just perfect! So, any other gluten sufferers, a place to go to enjoy a treat out. Well worth the drive from Swindon. We will certainly be making this a regular trip. Thank you for the beautiful food and especially warm and...
