After an exhausting 3-hour delay on the M25 returning from France, we stumbled upon Dollar Restaurant near Dover ferry port—an unexpected gem just when we needed it most. We opted for a takeaway, and what followed was a delightful surprise. The Tarka Dal was a total standout—velvety, aromatic, and incredibly close to a comforting homemade version. Easily one of the best dals we’ve had on the go. We also ordered Palak Paneer, though they used mozzarella instead of traditional paneer—perhaps by choice or confusion. While I personally enjoyed the creamy twist, the kids weren’t quite convinced. Still, it was a bold, interesting variation. If you're passing through Dover and craving honest, hearty Indian food, this place delivers—both flavour and kindness.

They are not selling authentic Indian food. Chana (chickpea) dish was brought when I ordered matar paneer ( peas cheese). I asked the staff which one of this is matar( peas) he pointed to the chana (chick pea) and said this is it. Anyone who wants authentic Indian food should not go here. There are 2 more Indian restaurants right adjacent to this one which are good. I repent going to Dildar, never for me again.

High quality food - bit pricey and small portions for platters but really delicious. Good selection of quirky Chinese drinks Easy parking outside The lady at the till was very nice and helpful and funny Will come again :)

I ordered food as a delivery for a family dinner. Didn't receive what I ordered. Called to ask for a replacement only to receive the same again.... The wrong thing. Called a second time and spoke to a very rude, abrupt man who tried to say I was not clear with what I wanted, which of course I was when I rang. I clarified what I wanted and they agreed to replace it only to sent the same thing. After a lot of 'debating' about the situation with him I requested a refund to be told I would have to drive to the restaurant to collect it - if I was going to do this then we would have eaten in. I asked once again for the dish I had originally ordered to be told this was the last time they were replacing it..... None of which would have been needed if they got it correct in the first time. I agreed to which the man abruptly hangs the phone up on me. No goodbye or apology for the inconvenience!!!! My family had all eaten their dinner and my bread was cold and rock hard by the time I got my curry.

NEVER ORDERING...

The worst Indian restaurant ever. False advertising as this is not authentic at all no flavour completely bland orange juice tastes like they juiced the skin instead of the actual orange Undrinkable family member on the table couldn't take more than one sip.So overpriced for what it really is. charged per person for a shared dip.The service was also terrible as they rarely came to check how the food was or if we needed anything had to go to them myself. I REPEAT AGAIN THIS IS NOT AUTHENTIC.NOT HAND MADE THIS IS OVERPRICED TESCO FOOD.WASTE OF MONEY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE.FURTHERMORE A MEMEBER OF THE TEAM ALSO WENT ON TO SAY ''it's only 1.50''.I found this extremely rude never should of come here never going back.WORST RESTAURANT IVE...
