Indian Ocean — Restaurant in England

I am very sorry to say that after years of being a customer at this local restaurant we went for the very last time yesterday. We will not be going back. Table booked for 6pm and when we turned up (on time!) the table wasn't ready for us. We had to sit and wait in the corner until they acknowledged us. At the very least we should have been offered either a drink or some nibbles etc while we waited. That did not bode well and should have been our warning sign! Then it just got worse tbh. Ordered drinks that didn't come until gone 7pm (yes an hour later!). We chased them a few times and also asked them what was going on with the service as it was really not good but they just seemed to laugh it off and weren't concerned. The service was horrendous. The starters took an absolute eternity to arrive also and then the mains never even arrived .....! 8.15pm we had had enough. We had given the staff plenty of opportunities to resolve the issue (which when we did speak to them as I mentioned they didn't seem to think the wait was a problem but sitting in there for over 2 hours without our food says otherwise....!). There was 1 large table which seemed to be taking all their priority and they were neglecting everyone else. However there were empty tables and so it was nowhere near full capacity. Some staff were standing around not doing much at all and so there really are no excuses. We gave them plenty of chances to resolve before we had had enough. 3 tables ended up walking out due to the terrible service. One table had a child that was crying their eyes out due to being so hungry, poor thing. Just awful. We had a bad experience here just after COVID too and this is the icing on the cake and we will not be back. You have lost a loyal customer. Dreadful and slow service. Not...

I visited the restaurant on the 5th April. There were 3 of us. Where should I start? My Martini did not taste like Martini. NO wonder as when I asked for a white Martini, I was given an extra dry Martini that does not taste the same at all. We ordered a bottle of red. The bottle was not opened in front of us. I never had this before in a restaurant. When I asked why, the "fully bearded" waiter (I don't think beards have anything to do in a restaurant if you want to go into the detail of hygiene) just answered "because I opened it over there". That is a very cheeky answer but also very ill-mannered. My friends liked the food. I found it OK but not special. I am quite a gourmet, so able to say when it is delicious. When they cleared the plates and asked if the food and all was OK, I replied it was OK. A new waiter answered back "only OK?". I explained if you ask me a question, I like to be honest. This again was very daring. I only had someone else ever fishing for compliments. Overall, not great at all but they were the only ones open before 6pm, now we know why. Coming back again!...

Very disappointed with my most recent experience. Been going to this restaurant for years & introduced countless people to it & recommended it as food is usually great. However last night was extremely disappointed & embarrassed. Had a friend visiting from out of town & raved about my favourite Indian place to her. Ordered around 7pm & an hour for delivery is quite normal & acceptable on a Saturday night. Sadly it took 1 hour 40 mins to arrive & was not up to the usual standard & we only ordered food for two people. I called after 1 hr & 15 mins & was told it was already on its way but still took a further 25 mins to arrive. Food was not very hot. Naan was not what we ordered no cheese or garlic just plain & completely burnt on the bottom. Hardly any lamb in the passanda & l was completely embarrassed since I'd raved about it to my friend.
