Dimarco's Fish Restaurant — Restaurant in England

There is just one problem with this place, something that stops it being as good as it could be - they do not cook the fish fresh to order, unfortunately. Instead, as you will see every time you go or walk past, the fish is batch cooked and piled high, regardless of whether they are busy or not. This means that whenever we go it is luck of the draw whether we will get a delicious freshly cooked, hot crisp battered cod or haddock, or a barely lukewarm supper, with hard batter. Not great. I can understand this batch cooking method for peak times like Friday night when they get queues, as there is a decent turnover of orders and the chances are the fish won't be sitting there too long. But I can't describe how disheartening it is to walk into Dimarcos on a quiet Wednesday evening, no customers around, but about a dozen pre cooked battered fish piled up and you just think how long has that been sat there? And then you hope for the best and take it home and it's cold or lukewarm, which makes it rubbish and pointless. Really rubbish. They don't cook it fresh to order, unfortunately. It's ok if it's a busy Friday night, but go midweek and you will get old and hard battered fish. Batch cooking and piling the fish high on a quiet evening for some poor soul to come and spend their hard earned cash on horrible old hard fish shows a lack care for the food and contempt for the customers. My family are regulars at Dirmarcos because the fish and chips are excellent. The place is usually busy so everything is fresh out of the fryer, the fish batter is crispy and the chips aren't at all greasy.
