Dino's — Restaurant in England

We were greeted on entry and seated. My guest and I ordered our meal and soft drinks. These arrived and the meal was most enjoyable. When the bill came I offered to pay by my Debit card. This was refused saying that there card machine was out of order. My guest and I checked our cash and found that we did not have enough lose change to pay the bill. As I am over 70 years of age my guest a lot younger offered to go to a local cash point and get some money, he left and said he would be about 10 minutes. To recap, the menu states that they accept all popular credit and debit cards. When we ordered our meal the waitress did not say that payment by credit or debit card was not available and any transaction must be in cash. I sat back down at the table to await my guests return with enough cash to pay the bill. The waitress or owner did nothing to ease the situation ie by offering me a soft drink while I waited, instead a Very large man appeared from the rear and sat diagonally behind me 3 rows back. He sat there and appeared to just be staring at me. Making me feel very uncomfortable and intimidated. When my guest returned and gave me some cash the large intimidating man rose immediately and returned to the rear of the restraunt. As I paid the bill no apology was given by the restaurant . A lovely place, you can see the beach from here. Very welcoming & friendly staff. Good menu, plenty of choice. Good price as well. Food was tasty, perfect timing. There’s seating indoors & outdoors - you are looking at the beach. Suitable for families, they were very kind to ours. No toilets directly on premises but there’s a free public just 1 minute away. Parking is around, but you have to be lucky. Pay by card or cash. No nonsense....

Really happy that next door was too busy to serve people, as we might have missed this great cafe, the food is great, the boss is afable and personable, and generous with his time and service, and is more than happy to give an extra sausage for our very welcome dog.
