Eastern Delights — Restaurant in England

By far one of the best central curryhouses in Grimsby / Cleethorpes that's close and accessible enough to both locals and for tourists for both dine in and delivery. For me, only second to its next door neighbour, Nawaabz (and that is purely for my favourite curry from there - the honey chicken - I suggest you try it!!).

Had a chicken masala last night (adventurous, I know) and by far the best masala I've ever had. The tomato wasn't overpowering like in many similar curries and was incredibly smooth. Paired with jasmine rice, it was beautiful. On top of this we had a peanut butter chicken curry - I'm not a fan of peanut dishes usually but this was the exception - a nice creamy butter curry and the peanut taste was flavourful without being 'too much' (i.e., it didn't take away from the other flavours).

Portion sizes were generous and the chips (fries) we got with it were cooked nicely and made for a nice dip in the curry (I know, I'm an uncouth savage, don't hate). Again, a generous portion.

Dishes here are very affordable and delivery is very cheap (£1!). My meal arrived within an hour and was piping hot.

They also offer dine-in and all you can eat for £16/head. Great value for a full course meal but again, portion sizes are generous. If it's just the two of you, you could eat well for less than £16 / each from the standard menu.

The minor, minor gripe was that the sauce in the masala could have been a tiny bit thicker but that isn't to say it was watery by any stretch of the imagination.

I've dealt with this company for a good few years now with no problems at all but I'm afraid this company has NOW GONE DOWN HILL BADLY. 18:23 meal ordered and promised within 45 mins (I understand how companies are busy at this time so we allow a good got or so) 19:59 : we call to ask where our meal is to be told it's still coming and will be with us in 20-25 mins. 20:30 : I call to express my disappointment as my food still hasn't arrived to be assured it will be with us within 15 mins (bearing in mind I have 2 children waiting to eat with hardly any other food in the house as we need to do a shop tomorrow) 20:50 : I call to cancel order as we are an sick of waiting 2.5 hours at this point, the people on the phone seemed disinterested and showed no customer service at all which is very disappointing after years of loyalty to this Indian. There is no reason for not looking after your bread and butter regular repeat custom, you have there details, you have the ability to contact them so why wouldn't you??? I'll tell you why... Because they don't care. My family, friend's and everyone whom I've ever recommended this place to will not order again from you. SHOCKING...

One of the best curries that I've tasted ,lamb jalfrezi boiled rice and a couple of chapatti breads. Service was excellent and not over attentive like some places, made to feel very welcome from walking through the door until leaving, not very often that I go on about a place like Eastern delight but have told everyone I know if ever in cleethorpes try it.was given a award for best restaurant curry house in 2018 (I think) and definitely deserves one in 2022 ,if I could award 10 stars I would and probably more ,great place with a great menu to suit your pallette with English food available as well as from the Indian menu, tastefully decorated and not a roll of flock wallpaper in site, great staff great service great price. Thanks to all staff at Eastern delight for a lovely meal at the end of my few days in cleethorpes will be back soon...
