Well what can I say, I don't usually write reviews but my experience at Valentino's was so positive that it has compelled me to write one.
The sound of Italian music can be heard as soon as you enter the restaurant. I was immediately welcomed by a charming Italian man who was polite and friendly, he occasionally spoke in Italian which was a great touch, you really get the feel that you're in an Italian restaurant, you could even be in Rome itself. There's pictures and paintings of Italian culture on the walls and the decor is unmistakably Italian.
Me and my family were guided to our table by the welcoming Italian man, we later found out that he is Valentino himself. He bought a garlic pizza to our table whilst we chose what we wanted. I ordered the Tagliatelle Carbonara, the food was ready in 25 minutes. The portion sizes are just right, not too big, not too small. The food tasted incredible, I was blown away by the quality of the Carbonara and the cheesy garlic bread. My whole family were pleased with their food and everyone commented on how tasty the food was.
Valentino's has a great atmosphere, it is warm and welcoming and has a genuine and authentic feel to the place. Valentino put a big smile on my face and made me really feel at ease in his restaurant, I have never been left with such a lasting impression after visiting a restaurant, needless to say that I will be back. I visited on a Monday evening and there was plenty of customers, a true testiment to the quality of the experience at...
Read moreFalse adverising dont do it unless you just like pizzas. Me and my wife were so lucking forward to this meal as we have been before a couple of years ago and was busy and fantastic food. After my eyes saw the supposed dinosaur saw size lamb ribs as adverised and fresh pasta we couldn't resist booking. On entry we were plonked in the middle of the cold room (as supposidly heating was broken!) and given a beer mat to prop up the wonky tabel, funny to start with but it got worse, we ordered ed garlic mushrooms which didnt taste of any garlic and smotheted in what i would d say was milky cream? We were given a fresh portion but obviously they dont taste there food!just the same!! After receiving ribs like pigeon legs i asked what type of dinasaur was this from,he just laughed and said he couldnt get them any more! The pasta wasn't fresh, out of a can i expect which he disputed, all the other food wasnt good apart from the garlic bread! Wasnt happy but i paid my bill because i think they must have been struddling, they need to get the food right to make money, they were friendly but a bit narked when i complained, i didnt go there to make friend just eat fresh italian food. Disappointed and wont be hoing again, not sure whats gone wrong...
Read moreTook my daughter there one night as a treat out. lovely little place friendly owner. However the food was totally disgusting. nothing we ate was fresh as such...you could taste it was all from frozen, packet stuff anyone cold buy from any food store, disgusting and Very bland. The best thing out of the whole meal was the garlic bread. seafood salad was so gross, clearly has no idea about anything to do with that! and the spag bolo was just awful, i can cook much much better than this. And YES i am a very good cook. The Carbonara dish i had was just so disgusting the pasta was from frozen and as for the sauce, well god knows where this Italian man learned to cook one of the most poplar dishes, and to top it all he just slapped on freking ham slices from a cold deli packet on the top.. OMG it was the worst i have ever tasted. i do not recommend this place if you are looking for human food, And anyone who thinks otherwise needs to have their head read. The dessert was good though Tiramisu very nice. but i will never go back there nor ever embarrass myself to take anyone there unless i...
