Nice little Italian restaurant. Our table was next to the place where the waiter would collect the food. A bit busy there but it wasn't too bad. It was quite loud but I think it was because it was a Friday night and a big group had their dinner in the front part of the restaurant. We had 3 courses. My girlfriend had tomatoes with mozzarella and avocado. I had fried mushrooms in a garlic white wine sauce with a slice of bread. The mushrooms were fresh and the sauce was just delicious. Good portion, not too small for a starter. As main course I had a Peperoni pizza with mushrooms. The pizzas are handmade, fresh and baked in a proper wooden fire oven. And you can taste it! One of the best pizza I've ever had. Thin and the crust not too crunchy. Just perfect and absolutely yummy. The pizzas are HUGE! Superb value for money. My girlfriend had a tiramisu for dessert. I believe it was homemade and came in a little jar. I had a deep fried dough roll filled with a cream, like Mascarpone. Absolutely delicious. Busy in the front but nice and cosy in the back of the restaurant. The bathrooms are nice but they were quite dirty. Even at a Friday night I would expect clean bathrooms. Overall perfect value for money, delicious, handmade and fresh food for an affordable price. The staff was really nice and they looked well after us. We paid for 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 dessert, a pint of beer and a 250ml merlot wine £52. That is a totally acceptable price for the lovely food we had. We will definitely come back. Highly recommended.

This was my second visit to El Murrino. First came here previously a few years ago with some friends. During this visit I came here with a friend of mine for my birthday. We were greeted and seated by friendly staff immediately. The atmosphere is nice, but relaxed, cozy, not 'over the top'. Very nice warm lighting. We were seated very close to the kitchen so it was loud at times but It wasn't enough to bother us. Didn't take long for us to pick our food. I ordered a calamari starter to share with my friend, it arrived very quickly and we also enjoyed some pina coladas. It really didn't take long for our mains to arrive, I had a lasagna as its one of my favourite foods and honesty that was some of the best lasagna I've ever had. Rich sauce, lots of cheese. It really was on point. My friend ordered spaghetti and meatballs which she also enjoyed although said it was a bit salty but other than that she enjoyed it. To finish it off we had some salted caramel ice cream which was a nice way to finish off our meal. I'll definitely be coming back here for a third time and hopefully more. I highly recommend this place.

Travelled back on the train and needed some food and walked past loads of restaurants before looking inside and thought yep would love an authentic pizza instead of a high street chain fast food meal. Well gotta say I hit the jackpot Wow this was the business. Literally the best pizza I have every had. I made My own and when I asked for some sausage on it they had a house special that was amazing - I smiled when I asked an Italian if they had pineapple for a pizza and all I got back was a smirk haha so not sure why the Italians don’t like pineapple on pizza but I’m well aware they don’t Anyway - I was on my own this time just passing through but will be coming back with friends and family They seem popular and good shout if you like a real Pizza

After reading rave reviews my husband booked this for my birthday. Having suffering badly the whole term of my pregnancy and after he was excited for us to share a proper meal together. However our welcome wasn't exactly friendly, when acknowledging our booking there was no mention of a birthday, no question of how our day was, no interaction with baby. In fact the man who greeted us in a blue t-shirt seemed quite impatient with us. This trend continued with both our servers. The first didn't acknowledge our daughters existence when bringing over menus and when we asked for one she didn't get one and merely stated the they oferr pizza or pasta dishes. When I asked about vegetables I got a disgruntled thats not on the menu when I hasn't even seen one! I actually think it's disgusting in this day and age not to offer a healthy food option for children. The food, barr the chicken nuggets my daughter ended up having (which was more bread than chicken) was nice and flavoursome. Our second server, had just a punch more personally than our first but only offered the basics of "have you finished" and "shall I take your plates" plus one smirk when baby cried, probably in response to how upright we found the whole experience. Finally we were ready to leave, the bill was left with a review card which we honestly filled out and awkwardly watched them all read at the bar. Had we have wanted a fuss we would have complained but my husband didn't want to further dampned the mood further. The staff however, still didn't acknowledge the birthday but offered us a cheesecake to take away. The one food I'm still unable to eat as it makes me unbearabley sick (a point my husband also emailed them about in advance). Too little too late, and with added insult to injury. So heartbreakingly...
