Never been here before, but can for bottomless brunch. We were shown to our table by the manager she took our drinks order. She told us who our server was and she would be over soon. I noticed that our waitress went off on the phone and we waited a fair while considering it wasn't too busy. While waiting another diner was sick at the table and the staff delt with it quickly and without fuss. The drinks were all nice, alot with pineapple though, and they were strong. The only bad thing was the amount of ice and size of the straws, the ice kept getting stuck in the straw which was annoying and trying to drink from the glass was lip numbing. However after the 4th cocktail it we were passed caring.😆 The food was nice and fresh, I did feel sorry for the chef as it was getting busy and there were only two staff in the kitchen. I don't do spice, and although the chicken wrap had a kick is wasn't too hot for a wimp like me. While eating the paramedics were called for a customer who had been in the toilet unwell from drinking too much. Yet again the staff delt with it amazingly and with a smile on their face. It was a nice first time trip and I would recommend this place, especially if you like spice as there are some great dishes to choose from. But word of warning, BE CAREFUL WITH THE BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH!!! Know your limits and drink water inbetween. That way customers and staff will have...
Read moreThe Sun was out, the atmosphere was light and I wanted to treat myself.
I am Caribbean and wanted that home food cuisine as well as the atmosphere, and I thought, what better place to get that than from 'Turtle Bay' themselves.
Walking In, luckily everyone was out enjoying the sun that I did not need a reservation. Got seated and scanned the drinks menu. It was a 2 for 1 deal, so I took full advantage.
The Food - The vibe was as if I got it right from the jerk barbecue man from the roadside (authentic as ever!)
The staff - was pleasant and was attentive to my order and even made suggestion on what's poppin (most popular).
The Restaurant- We got seated next to the chefs and saw them as the creation of Caribbean cultural food was being made. I could tell it was going to be good because I even recognised the voice of a Jamaican chef as well. The layout was just as home, the branding of the local beer, 'Carib' the wooden decor painted in the vibrant colours of Red, Yellow and Green, everything just made me felt so happy at the place.
I have ate at Turtle Bay, Plymouth, Winchester, Derby and I can say. Turtle Bay Bournemouth is the real deal!
As always when it's that good I end with. "This place has my...
Read moreI always love a bottomless brunch at Turtle Bay- I'm not writing this review to complain but more to show appreciation to our server Liam. I came with a total group of 7 at 5pm on a Thursday for Bottomless Brunch, so we weren't expecting it to be busy at all, but it was a tad busy. It took 30 minutes to get our first drink, and for our food order to be taken, which was a little annoying. By the second hour service had definitely sped up so props to everyone for that. We were left feeling quite irritated as it was so slow. We talked to Liam about this, who explained the situation was due to a student discount bringing in more people than usual, causing them to be understaffed. So I do feel for the team that night, because they did it quite well. But it was just quite disappointing compared to the previous times I have been there (all on busier days too) Cocktails were amazing as usual, and food was great. I find that it is a gamble with bottomless- but would always come back here for a meal and the great service that was...
