My two daughters (aged 5 and 8) and nephew (aged 8) love Prevail Junior Indoor Flow Park in Bournemouth. It’s easily one of the best indoor activities for younger kids in Bournemouth. It’s easy to get to by car (just off Wessex Way) and has a large multi storey car park attached to the shopping centre it’s in. If you’re on foot it’s only a 5 minute walk up from Bournemouth Square. It’s a great price (£10 for two hours) and while we were there yesterday we saw kids riding scooters, balance bikes, skates, skateboards and small bikes. I love the fact that the majority of kids there were under 8 and we even saw some 2 and 3 year olds having a go! There were no older kids showing off or riding inappropriately. We went early (10am on a Saturday morning) and it was really quiet. It’s super clean, staff were helpful, lots of seating and also has a small cafe (food looked nice although we didn’t eat there ourselves). My nephew didn’t have a scooter so we hired a stunt scooter for only £4 for 2 hours! This is the second time we’ve been and this time the kids had a lesson from Cam (South Coast Scooter Lessons on Facebook). He is absolutely brilliant and the kids loved his teaching style. He’s really friendly and gave great feedback with lots of high fives to help the kids improve. My 5 year old daughter said she wished she could have a lesson with him everyday! It was really easy to book the lesson via WhatsApp (after sending South Coast Scooter Lessons a message on Facebook) and an hour lesson is only £20 1-2-1 or £18 each 2-2-1. An individual half hour lesson was £10. The added bonus of booking a lesson is that you don’t have to pay to use Prevail during the lesson but if you want extra time after the lesson it’s only an additional £6 for an hour. We will definitely be having more lessons with Cam and will definitely be going back to Prevail...
Read moreGreat place for kids .. HOWEVER on a weekend the capacity was mental! Small children and big kids do not go well together , they need signs on the floor to show the kids what way to go. There is no health and safety and no one watching the ramps. So many accidents because of this misunderstanding of little ones( understandable) the ramps were soooo busy. I asked a member of staff about capacity and they said they don’t have one which is crazy. The food they advertised was not the food I received. The female staff in particular was very rude when speaking to about this matter , there was no need for it especially when being charged nearly £8 for some toast with filling inside and chips. Also… and I do understand this was my mistake … we over stayed the 2 hours by 20 mins which was just me chatting and generally didn’t realise the time. Management sent over a young girl who asked us to leave , not in a particular nice way , with a bit of an attitude. I apologised and we gathered our stuff , we then headed over to gather the children off the ramp which can take a few mins to them not being near you and hearing you being such a nosey place. Approx 3 minutes later management sent over a young lad “ excuse me but management have already asked you to leave so please leave.” So rude ! We clearly were stood with our coats on and belongings getting our children !!! My kids enjoy coming here which is fine but the place is let down so much because of management- they really need management skills and how to talk to paying...
Read moreWhat I witnessed today left me in tears and in shock. In the same spot at different times two young boys had accidents. The first couldn’t get up for a few minutes but was still conscious (no staff saw him), the second fell face first and the impact knocked him unconscious. For a moment other children were crashing around him as he lay face down in blood, no one had gone to his aid. Eventually the alarm was raised by another parent who shouted ‘FIRST AID!!’ but it wasn’t a member of staff who went to him. The staff seemed to gather in the far end of the park and shout at the other children to get out. He was left for far too long! Luckily a doctor was on site (as a visitor) and attended the incident after a few minutes. There were way too many children allowed in, it was absolute chaos, so I’m really not surprised that there was an accident, although this one seemed to be due to a fault on the track not a collision. There should be staff watching every area like lifeguards around a swimming pool. If an incident does occur, an alarm should ring or tannoys should be used. If there are staff shortages either don’t open or heavily restrict the amount of people you allow in. Health and safety needs to come before profit! We had to leave 50 minutes into our session as we were too distressed to stay any longer. I really hope that...
