Food was totally fine and quite tasty - but everything else about the experience was terrible. My friend made it clear she had a nut allergy upon ordering, and then was served the Mediterranean Brekkie which had a pesto component, which contains pine nuts. After she noticed this, she asked the wait staff if it was a pine nut pesto, which they said it was. After her making it clear again she had an allergy, the waiter spoke to the chef who apparently refused to acknowledge a pine nut as a nut - but as a seed. So in their book they didn’t do anything wrong. This opinion was also shared by the manager when we complained, who said we were UNFAIR for asking not to pay for her dish. So a word of warning if you have any type of allergy - the entire staff at this place know your food allergy better than you do. But they don’t know anything about good customer service or how to apologise to...
Read moreHad two full English breakfasts and two soft drinks food was nice and hot served quickly but then had to wait for the bill eventually I had to go and ask for it only to handed a card machine and receipt with an added service charge which I do not agree with at all it should be discretionary if you wish to leave a tip not automatically added zizzis did the same which again questioned so not at all happy with that and also dogs being allowed in I do not agree with unless a service dog I have dogs and would never take them into an inddoor eatery as other customers have no choice of objecting the last thing I need to hear is panting grovelling dogs for food whilst eating it’s not the biggest area so lots of dogs simply not hygienic or needed sit outside if you have a non service dog won’t be returning as the food was ok but not outstanding for the...
Read moreDrove a long way to come to Fego for their ‘Fego burger’ we used to have. Gutted it wasn’t in their menu but was assured the name had only changed. But alas it didn’t have their wonderful ‘Fego’ sauce they used to have. Food was still good though. Service was fast and friendly and served in ultra quick time too. Really wasn’t impress by the billing process though. An ‘optional’ service charge of 12.5% was added on automatically and you had to ask to have it taken off. Pretty steep! We’d of tipped anyway because of the service but not to the extent of 12.5%. However we did, but will instruct the server next time we come to remove the service charge before we get the bill and then tip accordingly. Other than that, a lovely little café which deserves a visit. Oh yes, and the sauce, please Fego, bring back that wonderful, divine...
