Absolutely fantastic stay - the newly owned and refurbished George and Dragon Marlow is a hub for the community and a joy to visit. 2 nights from London super convenient and superb luxury - we chose a Fancy Room as we are tall and need a Super King. Every detail was above and beyond our expectations- a very warm easy welcome at reception; with sweet treats and a hand written welcome card in our room. Every light was on a dimmer; our room had air con and a bath and shower. So many towels, we had robes and non slip slippers; vegan bedding was such a good idea ( we are not vegan however recognise the inclusive mindset of the hotel & pub group - we notice a lot ! ) breakfast was so good we decided to have dinner and also lunch on the last day before we left we couldn’t resist. It is an absolutely fantastic place to stay and obviously Marlow the town itself is wonderful with plenty going on right by the river and on the edge of the High Street location could not be more perfect and no road noise for us. We were on the top floor. We are now going to look at the other hotels and pubs and treat ourselves to our next staycation however I will be trying to find reasons to come back here as quickly as possible even just for a day trip and lunch.

16/06/19 20:30.. Totally disgusting place, hygiene is not very good, sat here for 45 minutes staring at a dirty table because the staff were too busy chatting to their friends at the bar and playing with their phones, then coming out and clearing the table when they did clear the table she took the plates and didn't bother taking the dirty cups from the last people on this table and didn't bother wiping over the table so when our food did come out we had a very rude and arrogant woman give us mouth because we ask her, could you clean the table and take the dirty cups away because it was there all over it .. stack up and very arrogant behaviour from the staff, i've come across better service from a McDonald's. sitting here seeing dirty tissues all over the floor and on the tables and it's not even busy .I have been working around restaurants pubs and clubs since I was 17 and this is the worst service I've ever had in my life. Me and my partner we will never come back again after the treatment and service we got, the staff here should be ashamed of their selves on getting their P45 or at least have better training

At least the chips were hot.... Had booked a table for 8:45. Luckily we arrived at 8 as they were closing the kitchen and "chef" was going home. Managed to get our order in and wish we had gone back to the hotel. Pie had clearly been microwaved as the pastry was soggy and not crisp and flaky. Burger was warm and the fat from it had made the bun a sloppy mess. Would have sent it all back if I thought there would be someone capable of correcting it or knew of somewhere else close that was open. Had better from a burger van. Next time we are in Marlow we will certainly go elsewhere.

I'm sad to have to leave a critical review because I used to love this place (I still like it). You wouldn't think that a place like Marlow was that cost conscious but for some reason they have been altering the Menu for the worse and are being mean with the Steak. Being of a certain age (67) my taste is very 70s and i usually have Prawn Cocktail as a Starter and it is always absolutely awesome here, with the Marie sauce made with really top quality tangy Mayonnaise, so no complaints on this ! Next Steak & Chips, this is where we have problems. Only 8 oz steaks are now available (larger were available in the past) and tbh when the Steak arrived it looked like a 5 or may be 6 oz not 8 oz. So you are forced to either have a Starter or go for the Mixed Grill which is too much meat for me. Why be so mean with the Steak portion? (of course people will remember) Put the price up by a couple of quid instead. Another favorite gripe of mine is how Steak restaurants (not just this one) just show the oligatory half a tomato the grill so it's still raw and hard; even asking for it to be well done is no use. Tomatoes completely change their flavour once cooked (as does cheese) and I don't like them raw. Now for the desserts .... they used to offer a Mini Pudding with a cup of Coffee which was just right for those watching their calories but this combo has now inexpicably been dropped. If their strategy was that people would then go for the full size puddings well that didn't work with our table of 5, we just skipped the pudding and had a Coffee only so a chunk of revenue missed. If the Mini Puddings were loss making increase the price, don't remove the choice please. Please remember that footfall can reduce due to declining quality, not necessarliy because the place is too expensive (although of course low quality and high prices won't get...

Outstanding Event Experience - Cameron Made Our Dreams Come True! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Perfect venue for bringing families together from across the pond! As an American marrying a Brit, we needed somewhere special in Marlow to host our pre-wedding drinks and canapés for 30-40 guests - a chance for our families to meet before the big day. After visiting multiple venues on the high street, The George & Dragon with Cameron was simply in a league of its own.

🌟 What made Cameron exceptional: Instantly understood our vision and cultural needs Expert menu planning that perfectly accommodated dietary restrictions Incredibly responsive throughout the planning process Personally managed our event on the day with genuine care Flexible and accommodating to last-minute changes Available for every question with a smile

The food was absolutely divine, the service impeccable, and the atmosphere exactly what we'd hoped for. My California family was completely charmed - this was many of their first real taste of English hospitality, and Cameron and his team delivered an unforgettable introduction to Britain.

For anyone planning a special event in Marlow - whether you're local or bringing people from afar - Cameron's expertise and genuine care will exceed your expectations. The George & Dragon isn't just a pub; it's where memories are made. Thank you, Cameron and team, for making our...
