Firehouse No 1 - Amble Harbour — Restaurant in England

Hello, we have ordered takeaway from Amble shop several times and it’s been delicious, if slightly cold. However, on Saturday afternoon we placed an order through the app as usual and told that it would be an hour before collection. That was fine as we knew it would be busy. My husband went to collect our order. At the time a couple of staff members were loudly complaining about the number of drunk people who had come in ordering food and expected it straight away. Being located next to several pubs, I suppose this should be expected. Anyway, we can only assume this distraction led to my husband being given the wrong order. He asked if it was for “X” and was given a bag. As I opened up the contents of the bag it was clear we had the wrong order. I immediately called to let them know, whilst my husband was on his way back to collect the correct order. I was disappointed to hear that whilst my husband was waiting for the correct order, staff were telling other customers they were behind with orders because “someone took the wrong order”. No. He was given the wrong order. When my husband returned with the correct order, the food was cold, and my burger was still uncooked. All my husband was offered was two cans of pop. Incredibly disappointing! Overhyped and overpriced. Our lazy arses decided to go for delivery, we waited an 1hr 40 for our food. 20 minutes beforehand we had rang to see if it was worth coming to collect, given it’s over the weekend (Sunday) and they’ll be busy, so understandable right? I was told, “it’s being sent out now” nothing of an apology to the wait or anything? Despite it only saying an hour for delivery online. I’ll be honest, we ordered for 5, £68 it came to. Fries were edible but were cold, tasted gack and not a blade of seasoning. Burgers look nothing like or sized up to be as advertised. Also again, the burgers were cold and average AND they also missed our tots off of the order. No option to refund online and to be honest we couldn't be bothered to ring up to have it amended or refunded. In my eyes just a knock off five guys burger but more expensive. Sorry firehouse, your takeaway side lets you down. Just not worth nearly £70 for 5 people as a takeout. A bit gutted really 😂 Delivery lad was...

After reading some of the reviews and seeing the pictures that have been posted on here, I thought I'd add my own review.

We have had take out from here a few times, each time we had the tikka box meals. When we get the tikka boxes, I never feel for the price that there is much food. It's a fairly medium-sized box, but for the price, I'd expect more. The food has always been tasty, but the portion small. After seeing the photos on here, the take out portion is no way near the same amount of food as what I can see from these pictures, and I believe you are paying the same price.
