Came here with friends as we'd been a couple of months ago... Walked in on a Sunday about half 3 and were lucky enough to get a table.. 3 of us had beef baguettes with Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes and gravy for 10.99 each and one of us had a small sirloin beef dinner.. One of the best meals have had in a long time and we're very large baguettes with loads of roast potatoes each.... I would describe the small beef dinner as a very large portion anywhere else.. Superb meals and will definitely visit again... Staff were very attentive and helpful as well... Great pub with a great atmosphere 5🌟

Visited the area on holiday with the dog and decided to stop here. Dogs are welcome in the bar. There is a separate restaurant part. Staff were friendly enough, and other customers also had a chat. We ordered a good amount of food off the menu, which was a very good quality better than I genuinely thought it would be. All washed down with a nice pint of Guinness. There are a few places to eat near there but honestly the food was great and a reasonable price, we will visit again I'd we are ever in the area.

Was slightly tricky to find due to sat nav not picking up a one way system, but got there in the end! Food was nice and what you would expect from pub grub. Bar area is lovely and welcomes dogs in the bar area. (we had 3 with us). Service was great and we didn't have a long wait to order or receive our food. We booked for the Tuesday evening but there were tables free so imagine you could walk in and get a table without booking. They also have a restaurant area but I didn't see that.

Edit. June 2022 This pub has been revamped and is now no longer an old school boozer, it's now an up market pub and very nice it is too. After a few beers on an evening we booked for Sunday lunch. The sunday lunch was absolutely lovely, beautiful pink sirloin with fresh veg etc. The two girls serving were utterly charming and more importantly very good at their job and finally the atmosphere in the room was very chilled. Thanks 3rd visit. Oct 2022 Again no complaints moules frites was 1st class and the wife loved her steak. Again staff were a credit, friendly and efficient. Well worth a visit. 4th and 5th visit. Jan 2023. Another Sunday lunch, roast sirloin, again absolutely lovely and an evening meal once again top notch. 6th and 7th visit June 2023 Sunday lunch, the sirloin was if anything better than the previous visits, an excellent lunch yet again. Friday evening meal also first class and the staff, who all seemed to be different, were once again superb. Looking forward to returning in January. Another edit Sept 2024. Roast sirloin Sunday lunch x2. Lovely, tasty and hot. All staff are different from last time (except the boss). They might be different but yet again are all excellent at their job and lovely. Booked...

If you enjoy great food paired with chaotic service and the thrill of a dining time limit you weren’t warned about — this is the place for you.

We had high hopes walking into this place — the food reviews were glowing, and we’d even gone the extra mile to book a table weeks in advance. Clearly that kind of optimism was misplaced.

It took 20 minutes just to get a drink, which gave us ample time to memorise the menu, redesign the interior in our heads, and wonder if we’d accidentally wandered into a self-service establishment. Then came the hour-long wait for food — by which point we were genuinely impressed we still remembered what we’d ordered.

To cap it all off, just as we were offered dessert and another round of drinks (exciting!), another waitress came back five minutes later to let us know — surprise! — we had five minutes to vacate the table because it was needed. Apparently, the table came with an invisible countdown timer we weren’t told about when we booked. Sunday...

This evening, me and the wife took our two kids for a meal and was very much looking forward to it.

After a long wait for our food to arrive, I was completely gutted that my 32oz tomahawk steak was completely overcooked, dry, and inedible! How the chef managed to mess up on a £60 dish is beyond me! I had to send it back it was that bad!

Not only this, but the blue cheese sauce was like water. My wife's monkfish curry had that much butter in it. The butter was puddled in the bottom! My 6 year old son was joking, saying his steak was tough. My daughters steak was meant to be med-well done. It was more rare!

I didn't pay for the £60 tomahawk steak, but I did still pay over £80 for everything else. After leaving, I was kicking myself as I knew that I shouldn't have paid for any of this utterly rubbish food!

Your staff and especially your so-called chefs need to have a really think about if they are in the right industry! Shocking is an...
