Have had many good meals at Fuego since it opened and always highly rated it, however, really disappointed with our experience last week where we arrived for a late lunch as a treat for our anniversary. The food was excellent standard as always but service really lacking. Whilst I understand when restaurants are expected to be quiet the staffing is adjusted accordingly I felt the young man hosting and young lady serving were essentially indifferent to us being there, not a smile or welcome comment, just here is a table, are you ready to order, no personality at all. When our glasses were empty even when our plates were being cleared not a thought to refill the glasses from our bottle of wine so I just lent over and did it myself. I really want to support people working in hospitality as a career and know what a hard time restaurants are having but customers still need to feel valued and wanted, especially when paying £100 for a couple of pizza’s, 2 desserts and a bottle of wine with water etc. Maybe some extra training in how to engage with people may help? Defaulting to scrolling through your phone just because it’s quiet isn’t a great look……

Will be back at some point and hope this was...

Good afternoon.

I and my partner were in Bracknell and wanted to eat. Something nicer than the usual.

So we headed to Fuego where we've eaten before, though not recently.

Shown to the table by the manager who explained that the menu was due to change to a new menu tomorrow.

So far so good. We selected three small plates each. The food arrived, and as expected, it was looked and tasted good. At this stage the food was certainly 4+ stars.

A couple of "ladies who lunch" joined near to us. I glanced over, and thought I saw a different menu.

We finished up. Requested the bill, paid (£69) and left.

Whilst waiting for my partner I used the free WiFi to take a look see at the menus on the website.

Surprise, surprise there was a lunch menu at £17.50 per person. I asked one of the waitresses about this and why we weren't shown it. She seemed surprised.

I've eaten out enough times to know why sometimes this happens. Sharp practice at best.

So Fuego got some more £'s out of me.

But they've also lost a customer. Good bye.....

If anyone asks me about Fuego? Guess.....

Food 4+...

Very very disappointed. My husband, seven year old son and daughter and my self decided to eat out Saturday as a nice treat. We were greeted so wonderfully, sat and ordered our food. The children went for the kids 3 course menus and my husband and I went for different things. Just after 12:30 we received our drinks and the children’s dough balls arrived quickly after. However, my husband received his meal and I received the salad and not my main which was pizza. Around 40/45 mins after my husband received his the children received their pizzas. They were sat there almost an hour waiting for their lunch commenting how starving they were. We received an apology from the waitress but we all ended up eating individually feather than as a family. After receiving another apology from the waitress and a stranger commenting how GOOD the children were sat there starving we were still billed the 10% service charge and full bill amount of £75 despite the dreadful experience. We will not be eating...

I am Spanish and I wanted to taste the Spanish food. I was disappointed tbh. Patatas bravas extra cooked (see the photo), it wasn’t nice as you could taste that was fried more than 2 times, couldn’t finish it even if the plate is so small. The sauce wasn’t the proper taste either. Serrano ham croquettes, it was fine, but not quality Serrano ham, tried to taste separately and it wasn’t great. Italian salami, was very dry you could notice that it was cut already long time ago. Spanish tortilla with mojo verde and octopus. The tortilla wasn’t the best nor the worst, mojo verde was ok but the octopus was very thin, some over fried, the homemade bread, I doubt is home made, it was ok. However the cheesecake was delicious, I really like it.

It suited my mood - tired, thirsty and antisocial 😁. One of the staff did that "thing" of not looking you in the eye when they pass you your drink and you say thank you for it (maybe I was too successful doing my "leave me alone" look ! 😳😁). It shouldn't annoy me, but it does. Having said that the place has quite a nice vibe to it. The drink prices seem appropriate for the venue. I didn't try the food. I would probably come back if in Bracknell and wanted to chill on a Friday afternoon.

I attended a Fenwick x Sapling Valentines Cocktail Masterclass event at Fuego. I booked it via Eventbrite for £35 pp. Tidge, the brand ambassador for Sapling, led the event and shared lots of interesting information about how the company was started and its growth to date. She also gave useful tips on making your own cocktails at home. I really enjoyed the class and the mini bites that were served in between making cocktails were delightful. An experience definitely to be repeated.
