Have had many good meals at Fuego since it opened and always highly rated it, however, really disappointed with our experience last week where we arrived for a late lunch as a treat for our anniversary. The food was excellent standard as always but service really lacking. Whilst I understand when restaurants are expected to be quiet the staffing is adjusted accordingly I felt the young man hosting and young lady serving were essentially indifferent to us being there, not a smile or welcome comment, just here is a table, are you ready to order, no personality at all. When our glasses were empty even when our plates were being cleared not a thought to refill the glasses from our bottle of wine so I just lent over and did it myself. I really want to support people working in hospitality as a career and know what a hard time restaurants are having but customers still need to feel valued and wanted, especially when paying £100 for a couple of pizza’s, 2 desserts and a bottle of wine with water etc. Maybe some extra training in how to engage with people may help? Defaulting to scrolling through your phone just because it’s quiet isn’t a great look……
Will be back at some point and hope this was...
Read moreGood afternoon.
I and my partner were in Bracknell and wanted to eat. Something nicer than the usual.
So we headed to Fuego where we've eaten before, though not recently.
Shown to the table by the manager who explained that the menu was due to change to a new menu tomorrow.
So far so good. We selected three small plates each. The food arrived, and as expected, it was looked and tasted good. At this stage the food was certainly 4+ stars.
A couple of "ladies who lunch" joined near to us. I glanced over, and thought I saw a different menu.
We finished up. Requested the bill, paid (£69) and left.
Whilst waiting for my partner I used the free WiFi to take a look see at the menus on the website.
Surprise, surprise there was a lunch menu at £17.50 per person. I asked one of the waitresses about this and why we weren't shown it. She seemed surprised.
I've eaten out enough times to know why sometimes this happens. Sharp practice at best.
So Fuego got some more £'s out of me.
But they've also lost a customer. Good bye.....
If anyone asks me about Fuego? Guess.....
Food 4+...
Read moreVery very disappointed. My husband, seven year old son and daughter and my self decided to eat out Saturday as a nice treat. We were greeted so wonderfully, sat and ordered our food. The children went for the kids 3 course menus and my husband and I went for different things. Just after 12:30 we received our drinks and the children’s dough balls arrived quickly after. However, my husband received his meal and I received the salad and not my main which was pizza. Around 40/45 mins after my husband received his the children received their pizzas. They were sat there almost an hour waiting for their lunch commenting how starving they were. We received an apology from the waitress but we all ended up eating individually feather than as a family. After receiving another apology from the waitress and a stranger commenting how GOOD the children were sat there starving we were still billed the 10% service charge and full bill amount of £75 despite the dreadful experience. We will not be eating...
