Absolutely shocking this place! Firstly the guy behind the till in his specs was very unwelcoming. No effort to smile unless it was at his colleagues. I asked him about vegan cakes options and he just said 'we don't do vegan at the moment ' but no compassion behind his statement. Everywhere does vegan options but I guess its their choice not to keep up with the world. I thought ok I'll just have a hot chocolate...with whipped cream please.....we don't do whipped cream just a standard hot chocolate. I just couldn't believe it. My other half said shall we leave, and I wish I had just said yes!! but as his cake was already in a plate I decided to stay. We ordered a cake, hot chocolate and a tea. What a mistake. Over priced for a very small - not even a cup more like a taller condiment pot, tasted watered down, a cake that was more dry and tea in a small teapot with a stained cup. My husband didn't even finish it. £12-£13 down the drain. He wanted to ask for a refund and he has never ever said something like that for anywhere we've gone! But it was my birthday and we just didn't want to ruin our day. But it doesn't cost anything for good customer service. Even the table we sat at was dirty and so were the surrounding seats! Just so disgusting, will never be going back to this or any of their chains! The only recommendation I have for people is to turn around and...

I visited my local Gail's in Bracknell on Thursday 25th July before going into work and I fancied having one of their egg souffle and spinach sliders. Unfortunately they did not have any made and out on display in the counter so I asked if they had any left to buy and the young lady who served me said please wait while I find out and she went to ask the chef in the kitchen, the chef said she would make me one if I didn't mind waiting for it, so I said yes please that would be great and I'd happily wait. Sure enough after about 10-15 minutes wait the chef had made me a fresh one and a few others as well to go in the display counter. I did thank both ladies before I left but afterwards I thought I would write this review to say thank you again to them both and it made a lovely change to receive 1st class customer service which is getting rare these days in retail. I also work in retail as a Retail Manager and know first hand how difficult serving the public can be at times but it is always easy to give good service with a smile when you enjoy doing your job which both these ladies did and it costs nothing to provide. Thank you to all the staff at Gail's for the hard work you do and the great service you provide the Bracknell community with each day. I enjoyed my visit to you. See you all again...

Cakes and drinks very good, no complaints here. For the first time I decided to sit in today to enjoy my goodies, with a friend. We both had our babies in their prams with us. This is when I realised that the cafe is not at all family-friendly. Firstly, it was impossible to find a table with enough space around it for the prams without getting in someone's way. They do have highchairs and I tried two different ones, both had broken straps so I couldn't safely seat baby without worrying about his safety. The biggest issue though is that there's only one toilet for all customers to use. This has a nice changing table but no strap to secure baby and help to keep them from rolling off. Unfortunately my baby needed a full outfit change which I completed as quickly as I could. Two very impatient customers outside kept trying to get into the cubicle, I think this was their way of expressing that they disapproved of how long I was taking as surely they could hear baby crying, not my fault there's only one toilet, sorry! But not very good of Gail's and I feel they should have at least two, there is certainly enough space and no doubt I'm not the only one who would find themselves in this uncomfortable position. I shan't...

I'd see on the Monday Gail's are now in Bracknell. Brill. Lovely warm welcome. Made my choices to eat a lunch in. Then my visit went pair shaped. How to find a clean table! This task was impossible. Loads and loads of unclean tables. I sat towards the back with my tray...nothing went on the table...I'd given my name for the coffee and was slightly surprised I had to walk to collect it. So...sausage roll underbaked. Cinnamon bun over baked and my small cappuccino was only tepid. I was absolutely disappointed. A staff member was rummaging in a step/seat that was adjacent to my table. His chair kept knocking the table I was sitting at and the banging he was making was totally unacceptable. Had I of not been on my own and not feeling 100% my food and coffee would have been returned. I would have highlighted the dirty chairs and tables and I would have challenged the thoughtless staff member making a racket. Dear, oh dear.

This has to be the weirdest Gail’s out there. Upon entering, one feels as if trespassing into the Land of Giants - the door is heavy, wooden and massive, probably 5m tall. The ceiling inside is very tall as well, and at the far end of the cafĆ© (I mean it) there are 6 or 7 huge ā€˜steps’, perhaps to be used as additional seating. The standard seating is strange as well. Whatever expectations you have for the chain’s interior design, throw them in the bin. Here you’ll find bizarre lime green chairs, as if stolen from a kindergarten, as well as matching tables. Aside from the interior, the food and coffee on offer are just as great as in any other Gail’s, as are the extremely cheap prices everyone knows about ...

Having been to the Windsor I was really looking forward to visiting another store. When we walked in the guy behind the counter wasn't particularly friendly and seem to expect us to know what we wanted straight away. There was a good selection of cakes and pastries but could have been more. The cake we had was really tasty as was the Chai lattie. The seati is a bit basic and not massively comfortable. The cleanliness of the seating area was very disappointing with dirty tables and a lot of mess on the floor.
