We were in Bracknell today looking for lunch and Gourmet Burger Kitchen were advertising a lunch deal outside the restaurant so we decided to check it out. It is amazing because the Monday to Friday lunch deal comes with a burger(there are two burger choices available, they are The Smashed Classic or The Classic Bean)fries and unlimited drink for just £10.95. You can upgrade to loaded fries or a shake for just £3 extra. They do a gluten free burger buns as well so we decided to go here. I have never been to a Gourmet Burger Kitchen before so I was excited to try it out,it certainly won’t be my last time! I ordered off the lunch deal and I ordered the gluten free Smashed Classic burger. Unfortunately,I cannot eat the fries because I am gluten free but the staff were more than happy for me to have the Homeslaw instead which was no problem. Also, all the gluten free options are marked as GFO on the menu. For a burger restaurant they had many choices of burgers on the menu. I had the unlimited Sprite as my drink which was fresh and delicious. The Smashed Classic burger was gourmet indeed. It was very fresh and delicious. A very good gluten free burger indeed. The Homeslaw came as an absolutely massive portion size and was fresh and flavourful. I also had a take away cup of the Passionfruit and Vanilla soda, wow,it was one of the best drinks I have ever had. It was very sweet and full of flavour. It’s worth coming here for the Passionfruit and Vanilla soda alone! We were even asked whether we wanted it with Sprite or carbonated soda,I chose Sprite. However, the star of the show was the service, the food came very quickly with an allergy flag in it and our server Kieran couldn’t have done enough for us and was very friendly and polite. He was a ray of sunshine with his joyful personality lighting up the room! He was also very knowledgeable about gluten free as well. The decor is lovely here too,it has a more upmarket feel than another burger place like TGI Fridays. It has a very nice and chilled out vibe here too. Also the toilets are gender neutral too which is a bonus. Another brilliant thing is that you order at the bar and pay there and then, that saves waiting around for the bill which is nice! would highly recommend GBK in Bracknell. This was my first time, but definitely not my last. Thanks Kieran...
Read moreExcellent! A single word which covers so much, but in this case probably not enough.
We ate as a family here as a treat having been shopping in the Lexicon earlier during the day. The service was outstanding.
As a vegetarian, GBK is not the sort of location you might expect me to choose, but read on and you will understand why I have no hesitation in recommending, and indeed will eat here again.
My family eat meat, so had the standard beef burgers you'd expect, I had the vegan bean burger, which was very tasty.
The chef, John, was fantastic as he took extra steps to ensure there was no contamination of my meal, going so far as to cook mine after he'd addressed some of the other orders so that he could concentrate on our order and deliver our food at the same time and with no risk to me. We had no issue waiting a little longer than usual as the communication was excellent, and John came out to our table once we had our food trip check everything was as we had hoped. It was.
Radu, the manager, dealt with us and ensured we were kept fully informed on the progress of our meal. He also lived up to his name (it means happy in Slavik) and was friendly and engaging with a happy demeanor.
Owen, the staff member who dealt with us in our arrival was also happy and polite.
In all, the customer service from Radu, John, and Owen, could not have been better.
The burgers, all of them, were cooked perfectly, were tasty, and much enjoyed by all of us.
I'd highly recommend,as it's not often that staff make this level of effort to ensure you enjoy your time in a restaurant, and I can honestly say the team here at Bracknell GBK surpassed...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars, I would. We waited almost an hour for food, only to be told they had either forgotten my order or given it to another table (when I was the person who ordered first.) When I asked for a refund (as we were already late for a film), the staff member’s response was: “well there’s 15 minutes of trailers, so you should be ok.” Everyone at the table was shocked. Completely inappropriate response.
I explained that our friend was already in there and had texted me saying the trailers had already finished and the film was about to start, so I needed my refund immediately. They managed to bring my burger over a minute later but it was pointless, we were leaving. I got about 1 or 2 bites of it. I was told my refund would be processed. A week later, surprise — still nothing.
I went back in and spoke to the same staff member, who openly admitted he just hadn’t processed it as he didn't know how. He said he’d sort it and I'd have it in 2-4 working days, but then called me from his personal number asking for more details and even WhatsApped me for my card information — incredibly unprofessional, but also a serious breach of customer data protection. I gave him the details he asked for — and 5 days later, still no refund.I gave him what he asked for, and five working days later… still no refund. I will be visiting the branch for a THIRD TIME now to ask where my refund is. I don't live near to the branch so are they going to compensate fuel costs?
Avoid this branch like the plague. It’s a real shame, because I actually like GBK’s food, but the service here was...
