Step into the Garden Tea Room in Penrith and discover a charming oasis amidst the bustling town. This delightful establishment has quickly become my go-to spot for a cozy cuppa and a delectable treat.
My recent visit with my cousin was nothing short of an absolute delight. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted by the warm and welcoming aroma of freshly baked goods and the gentle hum of conversation. The ambiance was inviting and relaxed, creating the perfect atmosphere for a leisurely afternoon catch-up.
I indulged in a delightful hot chocolate, served in an adorable dog-shaped mug that instantly brought a smile to my face. The rich, velvety chocolate was perfectly complemented by a cloud of fluffy marshmallows and a dollop of creamy whipped cream. Each sip was a symphony of flavors, a true indulgence for the senses.
My cousin, ever the savory enthusiast, opted for a hearty ham sandwich, which arrived piled high with tender, juicy ham slices and a selection of fresh salad ingredients. Each bite was a testament to the kitchen's commitment to using quality ingredients and crafting dishes with love.
To complement our beverages and sandwiches, we each enjoyed a generous slice of crispy bar cake. The golden crust gave way to a moist, crumbly interior. Each bite was a burst of flavor and texture, a true testament to the tea room's baking prowess.
Throughout our visit, we were treated with exceptional service from the friendly and attentive staff. Their warm smiles and genuine care for our dining experience made us feel right at home.

Read moreI absolutely loved this cafe. I saw a recommendation for it online and decided to visit with my boyfriend, when we went for a day out to Penrith. Both of us have coeliac disease, so went to try some options there. Surprised there was so much we could both eat!
We had soup and a sandwich to start. The soup of the day was absolutely delicious - Thai sweet potato and coconut! With a sandwich on good gluten free bread - and good thick slices of cheese and onion chutney! It was a really good size portion of soup too!
The hot chocolate was served in a really fun large mug and was so delicious!
The cake selection was excellent. There was about 12 different cakes/pies/desserts on offer and at least 6 of the options that day were gluten free too. They also had some vegan options available too. I chose a millionaire blondie (divine!) that we took home to eat.
We plan to come again in the summer, when we are next going to be in the area, as the cafe is just so good and can cater for us coeliacs. They are so aware of...
Read moreWe popped in here as we're visiting the area for the weekend and so glad we did. The food was home made and really tasty. I had the homemade tomato soup and it was beautiful. He did ask for gravy with this and unfortunately they were unable to provide this hence the lowered star rating as he didn't enjoy his meal as much as I did. The coffees and tea selection was lovely and the cakes and sweet treats available looked beautiful. In all a really nice quaint place to have some lovely...
