Golden Dragon — Restaurant in England

EDIT As this restaurant is now under new management I thought I'd give it another go. I was assured the mixed vegetable curry was vegetarian, however halfway through eating it I found chicken in it. Never again. Even though they have meals on the menu marked as vegan or vegetarian, they fry everything in the same oil as the meat. When we questioned, after ordering, they blamed us for not specifying vegetarian. I didn't think I had to.... I should just be able to trust what the menu says. If it says vegan next to an item, then it should be vegan. 2 stars because the food is ok for non vegans/vegetarians. Although after tonight we won't be ordering from here again, I wouldn't trust them. Also, on one occasion my card was declined when I tried paying for an order from here. I paid with cash instead and thought I'd contact the bank in the morning. The following day my bank contacted me to say the Golden Dragon had tried charging my card £5000, no wonder it was declined! So the fraud team had been alerted. I could understand it if the bill came to £50 and they'd mistakenly entered a couple of extra zeros, but it wasn't. We ordered food from there tonight based on the previous posts as we were just spending a night in Hexham . I was shocked how appalling the food was in general . Spring rolls uncooked in the middle , no taste , bland mushy centre and greasy pastry. The chicken balls were also undercooked and full of grease, the special fried rice had no flavour and there wasn't anything special about it. The Cantonese beef was chewy and tasteless . The worst dish was something that was supposed to be a beef chow mein. I received a bowl of thin noodles and a bowl of tepid beige looking meet in some sort of gloop . Don't bother ordering from here, we were told an hour wait for delivery, ok no problem, called an hour and a half later to ask where it was to be told it'll be another 10 minutes, my mobile number was taken when I ordered so you'd think the least they could do was to call and say our food was going to be so late but when the "business" is being managed and phones answered by tweens we should probably have just ordered from somewhere else in the first place... Try golden rice down the street, they don't deliver but at least you...
