We was in the area due to family reason and needed to find somewhere to eat which normally is easy but I had our dog with us. I gave Greyfisher a call and the lady was very helpful and said yes dogs can come in, bonus. We turned up to a nice warm friendly pub, we found a table and went through the menu. Lots to choose from, me and 2 children were eating and even the children's menu had lots of offer and all at a reasonable price. Easy to order and the staff we lovely and very welcoming. We was informed that a item was no longer available, this wasn't a problem as there was lots of other choices. Now I have to say, what we paid I wasn't expecting anything great, well wasn't I wrong. The food was cooked perfectly, tasted delicious even my fussy child ate his and we all enjoyed our meals. The staff were great, checked all was OK but then left us to eat, there was always someone close by. The pub was a lovely place, very busy but you didn't feel crowded and had a wonderful atmosphere. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely be going back, we may actually just take a trip back. So we can have a family meal at a reasonable price, in a warm welcoming place. Pictures of food, were taken once we started eating. Bonus for being Dog friendly

This is a great place to enjoy with loved ones, family and friends. The menu is mostly meat and there is no options for vegetarian dishes. The price is great and the drinks are amazing. There is certainly a lot of parking spaces for normal public and also for disabled parking. The atmosphere is good and there are offers especially for football fans too. There is toilets available and customer service is amazing. There is room for improvement by providing vegan choices on the side. The menu is included in the pictures and the prices are correct as at 08.01.2023 and may change foing forward. Thank you and have a great time 👍

Made our daughters 5th birthday meal really special! 😀👍 All the food came quickly and was yummy, service was attentive and helpful (got us drinks top ups and provided extra sauces as requested). They even put candles in the birthday girl’s dessert and sang happy birthday to her! Really glad as this is our local pub so we are likely to be in here as a family fairly regularly. Only slight niggle was that the app wouldn’t allow us to process a voucher code.

A single burger was ordered but a double was served after a 45min wait. It wasn't noticed until each meal being served had something wrong with it that the charge on our bill was for a double. The menu read, £6.79 for a Single Burger, £7.79 for Double. When this was challenged the answer was, ' you get a drink with the meal & that's how the £1 difference shows.. .???? Then why did our bill show a £4.99 charge for a glass of wine & £7.79 for the burger? Because of all the 'mistakes' it was thought wise to cut open the burger, it was found to be very pink inside. Fries had been sat around for sometime for sure, reheated, dry & tough. Battered fish was the colour of a brown paper bag possibly fried in dirty old oil & the white of the fish was very dry, again sat round for ages & then refried maybe..? The egg with the Gammon was like a rubber toy, not even the fork could pierce it!! The Burger & the Fish n Chips were refunded, there was no way a replacement was wanted! With the refund came an apologie saying, 'yes your burger should of been cooked more'. A reminder was given about a starter that had not even been served at all & needed to be refunded also. When the refund was brought out it was short by 69p by which time we couldn't be bothered to argue over it. Safe to say we will not go there to eat again. Check your bill if you dare to try it as there was discrepancies in the charges made & when the original bill was requested received was a totally different one showing nothing of the original order!! It wasnt busy in there & the server, who turned out to be management, was lacking...

2/10 Food very poor

We decided to stop here on our way home for a bite to eat.

After just paying we were told there is a 45min delay on food. Quite a long time given the place wasn't even half full.

As we needed to wait, i asked if there was any activities for the children. This could have been offered to us, as we had been given a time frame to wait.

Food came out in 50 mins. It was rather odd, seen as the place was even more quieter than before.

The food !

Well safe to say, i could have done it better and cheaper going to iceland.

When it was brought out to the table, they had missed the upgrade on fries. We did point this out straight away. The plate was removed and came back in 30 seconds with bbq sauce and half melted cheese on them. This didn't really reflect the menu.

Some items hot some were cold?

Below are some of the things that we noticed with our meal

Chicken strips - From frozen, no flavour, dry

Onion rings - From frozen, under cooked, soggy

Salad - wilted, looked old. No freshness in either of the dishes

Chicken breast - chewy

Burger - Fat to meat ratio well off. Loads of gristle and lack of flavour. Almost cardboard like.

Portion size is was very small

I know we wasn't paying for Michelin star here. But honestly id rather spend my money and cook at home.

Overall, good location. But the standard of food here is poor. We have had much better food from other places, that are cheaper too. Could seriously do with the quality of food being put on plates here looked at.

Absolutely appalling my family and I so 5 of us stopped in here on the way back from day at the beech we choose here as we visit our local ro where we live greene King pub often and it has always been very nice, well the comparison between the 2 pubs is astonishing the greyfisher pub was appalling we orders 5 meals they came out in very scattered servings part of our order was 2 lasagne meals but they looked like 1 different meals as one seemed to be half the size of the other so this was sent back we had to ask for cutlery twice so my family could eat theirs whilst waiting for the lasagne meal to be replaced once the replacement arrived it had to be sent back again as was Stone cold in the middle it was returned 2 mins later and had been microwaved an inch of its life which is unacceptable if I wanted microwave meal I would go to icelands. After my family had finished eating we was brought our potato skins which should have been served with main meal totally unacceptable as it was not even busy i spoke to manager who was totally fed up as other guests sat in front of us was complaining of being served raw chicken. Manager only offered to refund one lasagne meal and told me if I was not happy to complain to head office then turned his back on me. Very disappointed as this was meant to be family meal and one of...
