Harbour Lights — Restaurant in England

Bought an ice cream here twice. The first time I had a lady serving me who didn’t look too happy to be there, fair enough, it’s a cramped busy place. She gave me a small scoop, no napkin or gloves used to scoop.. I wouldn’t usually care but she had been handling fish and chips right before this and most likely had greasy, dirty hands.

A bit more hygiene would be appreciated. I’m a local so I live around here and enjoy coming here as they have a wide variety of flavours.

The second time, I had a man serving me who was a lot more friendly, felt a bit bad paying in card as cash was more preferred but he was nice about it. Gave me an average sized scoop but again no napkin. Would greatly appreciate a bit more awareness or atleast a handwashing before scooping an ice cream. Was delicious otherwise. Visited Bridport last week. We ordered two large fish, chips and peas and one bottle of pop. It was over £30. And the portions were terrible, barely a kids portion. To make it worse there was a long wait for the food, and the food wasnt even half decent. Expensive. Long wait. Poor quality.

To make it worse, during the long wait two staff members came outside to drag in a big full of chipped potatos that had been stood outside, for god knows how long, with a long constant queue of people who could potentially being doing anything to it atood inches away.

I'm not sure if you've seen the opening scenes of Season Three, Episode One of Broadchurch... But thats exactly how I felt, sat pretty much 10 meters from where it was...

Why didn’t I look at the reviews before going here!!!! I always look at reviews!!! We went here because we had seen their display saying “fresh cut chips”. One thing we dislike is frozen chips. The chips were just awful, May have been ‘fresh’ chips but they had been cooked in old oil with the dregs of probably the last few days chips in the the mix!! More crispy brown crusty bits than nice chips. Then there was the fish, tiny pieces and pretty tasteless really. Lesson learnt.
