Having never been to Brighton before, and visiting family for the day, we popped in for a spot of lunch and a warm drink on a New Years Eve walk. Immediately, we were greeted by a very friendly female member of staff who accommodated us as a party if 6, which given the limited indoor seating was very much appreciated. The interior decor was very cosy and stylish, and immediately put me at ease. This was all done with no complaints or issues considering the signage said the place closed at 1pm for NYD, and getting there not long before, which was a massive bonus. The menu included a copious array of warm and cold food and drinks, including specials. We swiftly placed our orders and awaited our food and drink. However, the service started to decline from there. With all six of us having placed our orders clearly to the female member of staff behind the till, there was confusion over some lattes as to whether they had soy milk or not, and which one had an extra shot, which was disappointing considering how brilliant the service had been until that point. We then proceeded to be visited several times by a male to turned out to the brother of the female, and then the female herself - On a side note, the male wore tracksuit bottoms and trainers, which although they were clean and neatly presented was disheartening as it did not seem consistent with the hospitable nature of the cafe itself. Having clarified the total order, we received the drinks and then the food, albeit the cutlery for the food came after the food. The quality and taste of the food was brilliant; it was clearly freshly prepared, warm, and very tasty. They also allowed us to purchase some of the sweet treats which were equally as delicious. We left not long after, with full bellies and warm hearts.
Overall, I would recommend this place. The food was the best part about it, the service had areas for improvement, and the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been here several times now and love it! Mostly because they have such a large drinks selection, with several flavours of matcha, different milks, and most importantly for me, a great and unique variety of teas! The garden is cosy and sunny, with blankets offered if itās cold, and thereās plenty of seats. The food is pretty good too, though definitely on the expensive side for what you get - it does look fabulous though, and they didnāt skimp on the salmon portion!
Itās a great place to work, and they sell loads of bits and bobs inside too, like local honey and even olive oil. I highly recommend stopping by if you need a place, one of the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been here before and normally other dishes I have had have been much better. This time I ordered the Eggs Benedict, waited 40 min, I think I was forgotten as had to ask if the food was coming soon and when it arrived I was underwhelmed. No explanation as to why it took so long either š¤·š¼āāļø
The eggs appeared to be good quality and cooked nice but the hamā¦. It was like luncheon meat from the 80s. Really cheap and no flavour thinly sliced perfectly round formed and shaped in a way that is not worth the Ā£9.95.
It was busy with a good atmosphere and staff...
