BEST RESTAURANT AND BEST SERVICE PROBABLY IN THE UK PLEASE READ!!!

I am a very harsh critic when I leave reviews and will only give stars if I genuinely believe they deserve them I'm very hard to please as one may say!

From the moment I rang up they shown me nothing but kindness, love and respect!

When I first ring they were already fully booked however the manager answered and he said come on in and we will give you a table and feed you.

We arrived and were welcomed by at least 3 members of staff! They explained different ways of ordering and even made a recommendation of what to eat, very social very friendly and made us feel at home!

I then ordered food and either myself or the new trainee on the till got 1 order wrong, I'm pretty sure I said I wanted the Mega mixed grill however i wasn't charged for a mega mixed grill and it went through as a standard which I later found out after the food arrived.

The food arrived very promptly, it was ALL hot, well presented and even when I noticed there was a sausage and some other extra bits missing I was totally shocked with the portion size! It was very generous and when I made a comment to my partner about it being wrong but still huge the waitress approached the manager and notified him if what had taken place, he then asked me if I wanted originally a Mega mixed grill and when I said yes he told me he was going to get the chef to cooke a EXTRA mixed grill all free of charge and in humor he said "We've got to feed you now you're here".

10 minutes later another huge mixed grill arrived as promised equally as beautiful and as hot as the First one but I was already stuffed by then and only half way through the original one! 🤣😅

Staff came back to do a "2 minute check" which used to be basic waitering etiquette however has died off over the years so this was refreshing to see and the banter between all the staff, us and other customers was amazing to experience.

Having been filled up to the brim and going in with eyes bigger than my belly I didn't even get to touch the 2nd mixed grill they gave me free of charge and I felt really rude that I had made a comment about it and in honesty I slightly felt embarrassed however they made light of the situation and were genuinely happy to see that we were happy and they gave us a doggy box to take back the extra food home.

The food was delicious 😋 🤤 probably the best I've had and the price was also remarkable for what you get.

The atmosphere was buzzing, everyone was cheerful and happy and enjoying themselves in this establishment.

I'm not from this area namely Aylesbury, I love in the South West and come to visit each weekend my partner and her children and I'll be honest, my experience of the area as a whole isn't that good however walking into the Honey Bee was like being at home and I genuinely do believe this place is the best place to go for food or anything social for couples or families in the entire area of Aylesbury!

If your thinking of going do NOT hesitate, you will love the place and may I remind you again I am really not one to speak so highly of a establishment or even write a review unless it deserves it 100%.

Well what can I say. I visited The Honey Bee in Aylesbury back in October 2024. My friend and I were waiting on others to join us for a meal. We decided to have a game of pool (18.00) In the corner there was a plate of finished food, looked like it had been there sometime. We sat at the table and ordered our food. Some came out okay and some was completely wrong. The waitress .....well to say she had no people skills was an understatement. Clearly under pressure coz someone had called in sick (in all due respect, not our problem) No apologies, pleases or thank you came out her mouth. My meal arrived and it was okay. After our meal 4 of us went to have another game of pool....yep that food was still on the table and remained there when we left at closing time. Someone had been to collect glasses but left food ! Yuck. I said to my friend "sorry but I won't ever return". Fast forward to last night, same friend (1) convinced me the pub had been refurbished and it was a bingo night. I gave in and went. When we arrived we were told if you want food, there was an hour wait as the pub was very very busy. We said we understood and ordered within 10 minutes of sitting down. After an hour the waitress asked my friend(2) if she was happy to have a sirloin steak in place of rump as they had run out. She asked if she wanted it cooked same (medium Rare) my friend(2) said yes. Another 40mins it arrived. The steak was more rare than medium rare. I said to say something but given she had waited an hour and 40 she ate it and she said it wasn't good. 5 minutes later my other friends (1)food arrived and she had to send it back as cold!! My food then arrived and it was nice (1 out of 3). Another friend (3) arrived later who wasn't playing bingo and ordered a portion of chips. 50 mins later the same waitress from October experience came to table and said "are you waiting?" My friend (3) said yes her reply was oh shit !!! And she ran off to retrieve them (not acceptable) Then the bingo started (nearly 40 minutes late) Nice guy that was calling the numbers but he was distracted by other staff asking him things. The screens helped but sadly the boy 2 tables up saying numbers ahead of the caller was not. I heard the same waitress Comment on his age 12 but he played the ticket I someone's absence (don't you have to be 18???) I then overheard the same waitress say to the family about food and yep you guessed it she replied oh shit!!!! Wow how is that overlooked. We have always visited the honeybee every month as a family as the kids little area has allowed adult conversation while keeping the kids entertained. We went back tonight 2/7/17 and we can safely say we will NOT be going back again. On arrival we were shocked how quiet the place was, we were sat close ish to the toilets and we could smell urine. We thought it was just us being funny but on our friends arrival with their children they smelt the same smell. Within a minute it either went away or you got used to it! We ordered drinks and asked to open a tab to be told they dont do tabs anymore. We ordered our food and our friends who were stood at the bar with us ordered theirs straight after to be told it was an hour's wait!! It wasn't even busy?! This understandably put them off and they left when our order arrived. Well..........our 'order'.............we were told to be careful of the kids plates as they were a bit warm.....wow, their plates were scorching hot!! I wouldn't of put these plates in front of adults let alone a 4 and 2 year old. A side of sweet potato fries were cold, my open burger was, well, very open!! It should of had a jalapeno bottom bun but this was missing, there were more chips on the children's meals than there were on the adults portion!! The chip topper of pulled pork, cheese and spring onions didn't arrive and when I asked about this I was told it was on my burger!! I explained that is what should of been on the burger and the topper was separate, a side dish of pulled pork was brought out with the manager. He asked if everything was ok with our meal and I was honest outlining all of the issues. I am not one to complain ever, I usually accept that things aren't always right however today I had to be honest. An apology with an explanation of they have had problems with the kitchens recently. A waiter brought out hot chips, the chip topper and a bottom to my burger at which point I had actually finished it. No offer of a desert/meal next time was offered, just a 'let me know if there is anything I can do'. We ate half of our meal and didnt want anymore. At no point did anyone come back to our table to see if all was ok. It is a real shame that this place has gone so downhill.
