Table very unclean, didn’t appear to have been cleaned properly since last diners. Tables either side looked in a similar state. Poppadom basket covered in old dried up sauce. Nail/staple sticking out of underneath of table, very sharp caught leg on it and ripped clothing! No apology provided and didn’t seem to be overly concerned about the fact their customers could be hurt.
Party of 2 seated on a table for 4 we had put the pickle tray, poppadoms and our phones/keys on the empty part of our table. Whilst eating poppadoms and looking at menus a member of staff came over to the table, started pushing the pickle tray, poppadom trays over, shoving our items at us. Reason for this was they needed the other table but no communication just started moving things.
They charge you for each of the pickles that come with the poppadoms however don’t ask you if you want them or which ones you eat in the first place. We only use two out of the 5 given but still charged for them. Ridiculous!
Toilets as a whole were disgusting.
Made our excuses to leave as didn’t want to eat there, when going to pay for the poppadoms the staff member was on the phone finishing a takeaway order which was fine. Once ready to serve us, when ready to pay the phone rang, they answered it and proceeded to take a full takeaway order. Grinning while doing it, seemed like because only paying for a small amount we didn’t matter.
Extremely poor customer service all round!
Would give 0 stars if could.

Read moreFirst experience of Iford Tandoori....was a little bit caught off guard even from the phone call. The first time I rang, at 5.30 p.m, someone picked up, hesitated a second and then hung up. I called back a couple of mins later, and this time someone answered with a cautious "Hello?"....I said (thinking I must have the wrong number) "is this Iford Tandoori? "...."Yes" he said. Nothing else, just "yes".....So I proceed to ask for a delivery, give them my order and address details etc. Was told 45 minutes for delivery. The food did turn up on time and all was piping hot. Unfortunately one of the curries was leaking from a hole in the bottom of the aluminium tray, and had gone all over everything. A right mess to be fair, but didn't notice til the delivery guy had long gone. As for the food itself, we all agreed that none of it was as flavoursome as our usual Indian takeaway of a very similar name. The pilau rice was bland and undercooked, so you felt every grain. The chicken in both curries was actually decent but again they were nowhere near as tasty and aromatic as we're used to from our regular place. The mint sauce was watery, the cheese chilli naan had no cheese and ONE small piece of chopped chilli on. Poppadoms weren't great either, too thick and greasy instead of light and crispy. All in all it was just disappointing and a waste of...
Read moreGosh I’m not sure what all the positives are but for someone who is from south east Asia and knows her food well, this was by far one of the worse Indian restaurants we hv tried. The butter chicken was yellow sweet and the gravy had a porridge like consistency. Balti chicken tikka wasn’t much to rave about and the thing that throws me off is the breast meat used that truly does not hv any flavour. You know a good restaurant when they use thigh pieces, bc it takes longer to cook, it takes in the flavours and is juicier. Or at best, use tenderloins but breast meat is simply bland and tasteless. Felt like they threw in chunks of pre cooked tikka which I believe is what they do coz it’s simply the easiest thing to do. Would never recommend this pl to anyone. Disappointed to say the least. Probably caters to the ‘specific’ (which we realised when we were there) crowds, who won’t know the difference. Sad reason to call yourselves an...
