7 of us came for a birthday party celebration. The place was busy but what caught my attention was sticky menus and dirty gents toilet with no hand soap. I mentioned to the staff about the soap and it was not refilled in the 2 hours we were there. Service : Mediocre at best, we asked the server if we can order starters 1st and mains later and was told no problem. The starters were good and when we were ready to order mains we were told kitchen closed 2 min ago at 9:30. When I challenged why we were not communicated they apologized and their supervisor/ manager said we can get the food order in but can only make certain items as some equipment's are turned off. We made some quick changes in the order and placed the food order. Food : While the starters were good mains were fairly poor. The sambar in the Idli ( 2 portions ) was too salty we left both items, Baingan was mediocre at best. The naans were the shocker. Ive had better naans in Wetherspoons. Please change your naan supplier, there are plenty food factories in Leicester who can supply tandoori naan. These were flatbreads toasted on a pan loaded with vegetable oil. Coming back to service, nobody checked if we wanted more drinks or us how was the meal or questioned on the leftover mains They even had the cheek to add a dining in charge!! This was a 1st for me as I have paid service charge before for good service received but dining charge? Do you want people to eat in the car park!!
All in all a very forgetful experience. Plenty of similar choices in Leicester and we travelled from Nottingham for a treat.
PS: Note for the management, please do not send a generic response like you do in other reviews or ask me to email you about the issue, I have documented everything here. I spent so much time writing a review because I want you to acknowledge the issues and make an effort to improvise the situation. I understand the challenges of running a small business that too a food outlet. Please listen to your...
Read moreBooked a table for a family gathering, for about 30 of us. We opted for the gold menu which gave us unlimited soft drinks and food. However this wasn't the case according to the waitress Chloe. We got told that only the amount of jugs on the tables we have will be refilled meaning it wasn't unlimited! And not everyone got the drink they wanted. However, went down & spoke to a manager and was told it in fact was unlimited and more drinks would be sent up to us promptly as we hardly had any jugs! So praise to the manager for this although it still took a while to start coming. Then we had an issue with our starters, they were coming out very slow, some people getting dishes, some not. One person got told by Chloe that the kitchen are complaining as There's too many samosa chaats being ordered!? How is that anything to do with us? And then the same issue with crispy bhajia, few of our guest asked for more as they hardly got any and they were told are you sure you want more? Mains will be coming soon! The service was shocking on this occasion and not one I've experienced in a number of years at indigos. To top it all off, went down to pay & got told Chloe had counted 37 people in our group! When there was only 32 so I'm not sure what exactly she was counting! Again. The manager sorted this out straight away! He's the only reason I will be returning back to indigos and I hope the staff member is dealt with so that no one has to experience what we did on this occasion as it is pretty embarrassing when you've taken your family members for dinner and they give negative feedback to you.
I would also recommend everyone to check the bill thoroughly when paying as it’s not the first time that I was almost over charged! There was 32 of us and the bill was made out for 37 people! An extra £77. I’ve had this issue 3 times whilst dining in even when ordering on the app! Get to pay downstairs and somehow a dhosa appears on the bill, if I don’t check I’d easily have paid...
Read moreI recently visited Indigo with my friends and family, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. We encountered numerous issues with the service, which left us quite disappointed.
Service and Wait Time: From the moment we arrived, the service was slow. It took a considerable amount of time before anyone came to take our order. After finally placing our order for drinks, it took over 20 minutes for them to be served. This was frustrating, especially since we were a large group and expected more prompt service.
Food Delays and Missing Items: The delays didn't end with the drinks. Our food order took over 30 minutes to arrive, and even then, some items were missing. This added to our disappointment as we had to wait even longer for the missing dishes, which disrupted our meal.
Lack of Basic Dining Essentials: To make matters worse, when the plates were finally brought to our table, we weren't given any cutlery or serviettes. A few were provided later, but not enough for the entire family. This was a basic oversight that further soured our dining experience.
Staffing Issues: Throughout our time at Indigo, it was clear that the staff were extremely busy and overwhelmed. We were informed that there was only one person working behind the bar, which likely contributed to the slow service. When we raised our concerns with the owner, instead of addressing the issues, he blamed the staff. I pointed out that it is the owner's responsibility to ensure the establishment runs smoothly and that the staff should not be held accountable for management shortcomings.
Conclusion: Overall, our experience at Indigo was disappointing. The slow service, delays in receiving food, lack of basic dining essentials, and poor management left much to be desired. I hope that the management takes these issues seriously and makes the necessary improvements to ensure a better experience for...
