This restaurant used to be our favourite place to eat, we knew it wasn’t as it was but chose it for a birthday meal on Sunday, we booked a table but when we got there only 2 tables were taken and could pick where to sit, our drinks order was taken by the lady with the apron that has worked there a long time, we asked for separate payments and was told no we couldn’t as we were sat at the same table, her attitude wasn’t good and definitely not welcoming, we got up to get our starters the one choice of soup was nice but only warm, the drinks took ages to arrive by a very nice gentleman who took our payments and did do separate payments but said if we wanted anymore drinks we couldn’t do it on the cards we had payed on because they can only be used once? They food was ok not a lot of choice same as usual, but again only warm, on the next table was some young men with their feet on chairs slurping trifles out of the very small shot cups as many as they could plainly messing around, it was very uncomfortable especially when we had a 3yr old with us. I’m sorry to say after all these years that’s the last time we will be going to jades, there is a far more superior buffet restaurant also within walking distance, welcoming friendly staff that we don’t have to pay upfront can spit the bill get as many drinks as want that has far more verity and my grandson gets a choice of lolly pop on the way out probably why it’s extremely busy. What a shame you have lost our custom and...
Read moreNever had a bad meal here! We ordered from the a la carte menu this time and got:
Salt and pepper pork chops - insanely good, reminded me of Chinatown express in Newcastle.
Garlic Pak choi, equally as good, we get this every time now.
King prawns with ginger and spring onion, with soft noodles, thought I'd try a new dish and it didn't disappoint, absolutely tons of big prawns and a really tasty sauce. The only thing I'd change would be the slices of ginger, a bit too thick to eat but that's personal preference.
Three meats with rice. My other half gets this every time now, a brilliant Cantonese dish of char siu, chicken and duck with a sweet soy dip and some really fresh broccoli. Nothing will beat happy seasons in Manchester for Cantonese roast meats but this comes really really close.
They also do a set menu in the week with a soup, six!! starters each and a main with rice etc, a bargain at £14odd but far too much for me, I'd end up taking a load home 🤣
The buffet they do at the weekend is brilliant too, knocks the socks off the other ones around these parts and everything is always so fresh and replaced quickly 👌
The prices have gone up a little bit since the last time we went but where hasn't with the rising cost of produce and utilities? It's still very reasonable, tonight's meal was just over £20 each, and pints of Sun Lik at £3.50 is an absolute bargain, definitely recommend the place if you haven't...
Read moreGorgeous Chinese. We went yesterday just as it opened (Friday 24th May) after looking on google and Trip advisor and we are so glad we did. When we arrived we were welcomed by a lovely gent who seated us and explained it was an all you can eat buffet on a weekend and we had to pay upfront. Completely fine with us, doesn't make a difference. He was very accommodating as we had our autistic son with us so sat us where we we felt comfortable (close to the door incase he wants to leave haha) The food was all freshly cooked and piping hot and they kept replenishing each dish as soon as it ran low. They have it spot on here as they dont just batch cook and keep throwing it on, they judge it by how many people are in to ensure it is fresh and tasty for everyone. Not like a normal buffet were the food is left to sit for hours. 20mins in our son wanted to leave so we had to take turns eating our meal and the staff couldn't be more supportive checking in that we were ok and asking if we needed anything. This meant alot to us, no judgement just friendliness. Special shout out to the delivery girl with the blonde hair who I spoke to outside who offered to get some colouring pencils and paper out of her car for our son to see if that would help. Thank you for your kindness! Overall I would highly recommend this place. Service was excellent, staff were all amazing and the food was...
