Wasnt a good experience im afraid. I have been here many of times in the past its gone down hill. Entered the pub and went to the toilets thats before even buying drinks and food. The ladies toilets are a disgrace, my husband said the mens are passable but that saying it politely . In the ladies every toilet had no toilet paper except one. A few toilets were not flushed and the toilet at the end what looked like it was continuing flushing for whatever reason with a pool of water on the floor. There was no cleaner in sight. It really needs a cleaner to maintain a good standard. Secondly we ordered food for myself, husband and 9yr old. The barman said enjoy your meals which i thought was very nice, however the waitress never said a word, looked miserable and just stated what meals they were i would have thought the waitress may have said enjoy or something to that effect but she didnt nor did she do check back which is what im coming onto next. I had a hair in my food, chicken/bacon chips, disgusting! which put me off the whole of my meal the picture shows. I noticed it right from the start so as you can see i wasted a lot of it and barely touched it. I picked the hair out but realised i just couldnt continue eating the rest of it which in hindsight i wish i had made a complaint at the time. Its a shame me writing this but the standards of cleaning in the dutton needs to be looked at and dramatically improved if i was to ever have food in here again which is why ive only...
Read moreThe Dutton Arms lies on the South Shore in close proximity to the south pier. It is on the main road and features a front beer garden consisting of picnic style tables, sited on artificial grass, shielded from the pavement with clear glass partitions. This area could be made a lot more attractive as it lets the first impression of the pub down from street view. A shame due to inside being good. The bar and eating areas are very spacious. Split into semi-open areas, with TV's showing sport. Food is available and offers on certain meals make this an attractive alternative to others in the near vicinity. Menus are simple and easy to understand, staff did know what was available and did give you the best options. Saying this, during busier times, it was a chore to get served. The bar and eating areas (no eating outside due to sea gulls) are clean and tidy. The toilets are either downstairs for ladies or upstairs for gents (over a dozen stairs). These are clean, well maintained, modern and to a good standard. Bar prices are what you'd expect for a bar on a seafront. On the whole, a great alternative to other run down pubs or 'chain' bars and worth a visit for a...
