Loved the big dipper. I visited the pleasure beach on the 15th of this month. Whilst in the queue I started to feel very faint and generally a little unwell. We told the guy at the area where you scan the tickets and he was just lovely. He let me stand to the side of the ride and kept checking to see if I was okay, he kept offering me water and even gave me a big mint which actually helped quite a bit. Just an overall lovely man. So thank you Michael for looking after me. I ended up going back and actually got on the ride a while later when I felt better and...

It's a traditional rickety wooden structured roller coaster, still a decent ride after all these years, part of the enjoyment is derived from the coaster not being a smooth as some modern ones, and is quite bumpy. My mum is old enough to remember when back in her day, the Big Dipper originally had no waist belt to keep you in, only the handle bar, I bet that would have been both scary and enjoyable in equal measure. Shame Blackpool tore down the mouse rollercoaster, that was a blast. I thought it was protected by heritage...
