Absolutely appalled at the way nyself and my friend were treated at this place. There was 3 of us, we sat to look at the menus and after about 20 minutes we decided to go up and order. Myself and my friend got our trays and a few items along the counter as we approached the till. A young lady asked what drinks we would like so we informed her and she got then for us put of the fridge. On approaching the till, there was a black board which had written on it in chalk "cash or card payments accepted" we got to the till to order our hit food and the elderly lady said (very abrudptly) "it's cash only" neither of us had cash and I asked why as it states you take card payments and she just said "no, cash only" I hadn't realised but I was holding my bottle of drink. Myself snd my friend walked away from the till and walked back over to the table where our other friend was. All i heard behind me was the woman say "quick, go get her she is going to steal that drink, she is going to steal it" loud enough for several people in the restaurant to hear and stare in my direction. This is absolutely disgusting behaviour, I had no intention of stealing anything at all and to be treated this way is awful. Someone could have politely come and told me about the drink but no, very poor service. Also, why would a place advertise different forms of payment if they are not going to accept these forms of payment, or at least when asked, have some sort of explanation. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend going here. I wouldn't waste my time here again and I advise people to stay away from there as to not have to go through the same...
Read moreWe ate here on Thursday night. I had fish and chips and my son (9 years old) had sausage beans and chips. The fish and chips were not good, it was bland and tasteless and the batter was questionable in nature, I described it at the time as being one of the worst ones I’d ever eaten. The sausages were basic and cheap. We also had a slice of lemon cake shared, which was okay, but very dry. From midnight we (my nine year old and I) had a very severe case of food poisoning. We were vomiting almost non-stop until 3am on Saturday morning, including vomiting up water, with upset stomachs, and barely able to eat more than a few bites of bread from Saturday afternoon until today (Monday). I would not go back here if you paid me. Which is sad, as the staff were very lovely and friendly and we had a lovely time atmospherically, as it is a nice spot at the end of the pier. They also take card. Frozen Birdseye fish from Iceland would be about a million times better, no overstatement. I feel sick just thinking about this place, not sure I’ll ever be able to eat fish again and it’s put me...
Read moreThis place has so much potential. To be a hidden gem at the end of the pier. It's old school, food was fine and came out quickly. But honestly the special burger and the sea food platter were very overpriced for what they were. Nearly £17 (to include chips) - one small fish goujons, 4 pieces of scampi and maybe four battered prawns. With a small bowl of coleslaw and some iceberg and a couple slices each of tomato and cucumber. Burger special was two thin frozen burgers in a stale bap. Ice creams were cash only so they missed out on that sale from us as we had no cash. With a few small changes it could be the bustling end of pier place it deserves to be. A shame because we really wanted to rave about it! Still think it would be a nice place to go for a plate of chips and a pot of tea. And big enough to fit pushchairs etc. Atmosphere for us was good as we were looking for somewhere quiet away from the noise...
