Kaspa's Peterborough — Restaurant in England

This afternoon, my partner and I were completely bullied out by the staff in the Peterborough branch because apparently 'one of our party' from the last time had left a bad review somewhere!?

My partner and I have been going to Kaspas dessert lounge down Bridge Street, Peterborough regularly and very much enjoying their desserts, we've even bought friends along the last few times, getting them extra business.

This afternoon we went in, it was busy, and the staff all huddled behind the counter talking about us as we were in the waiting area waiting to be seated, then a very rude member of staff came up to us in front of everyone in the restaurant and said 'not to be rude but one of the members of your party left a negative review last time you came in'.

I was confused and asked if he could specify where the review was left and if he was sure it was us (I am under the understanding that it was a case of mistaken identity as I've since spoken to all of my friends who have been with us, and no one had left a bad review). I also asked why that mattered as we don't have control over the actions of our friends, I also asked if that meant that they weren't willing to accept criticism in order to improve their service.

He continued to argue with me in front of a restaurant full of other people, while the rest of the staff huddled and giggled to themselves, until eventually my partner said that we should just leave as we were very embarrassed. I asked if we were welcome to stay and eat and he replied 'no.'

I am very appalled as I have given them custom on many occasions and recommended you to lots of friends, to be treated in such a manner. I have never been rude to any staff and neither have any of my friends, and we have not left any negative reviews (not that it should matter if we did as that is prerogative).

Don't risk them ruining your day!

At 11:10 the sign was still saying "Closed". We waited outside the door and a staff member inside, with a horrible expression turned the sign around to show "Open" and ran off. We entered and she/he/they abruptly sent us to a table, I hadn't even closed the door and the other person I was with was already being taken to the table. But I followed and said nothing. Then I went to the till to order, but was ignored for a bit by the same person, obviously doing something more important than serving customers right in front of me. Nothing about creme/ice-cream on the menu, so when they (same person) asked "Cream or ice-cream?" I apologised and went to ask my friend, returned 20 seconds later and they were gone and another person continued with my order. They didn't have two parts for two items but still charged full price. The second person was talking so quietly that I was struggling to hear them, they didn't make any effort to speak up. Later on, the "whisperer" person came to us to let us know that one whole item from the order (£4.50) was not available, so we replaced it by another (£1.95). No mention of a refund, on top of that, a minute later we overheard some expression of annoyance by a staff member thinking that we just changed our minds for no reason!? We asked for the difference in price only because of the whole situation and luckily we asked a staff member called Abby, who seemed to be the only person to know how to communicate normally there. She brought the change and apologized, keeping in mind she had no fault. The manager of the place has some serious issues with grumpy staff, either bad management skills or just bad luck hiring the wrong people. Toilets are quite bad by the way, but in comparison to the other...

Absolutely outrageous service! Me and friends went there a few weeks ago and was served by the most rude girl, no manners and telling my friend off for me giving her the wrong table number as I read the number the wrong way round. We brushed this off as people do have bad days and things happen. This was my first time going and I would have attended again but only for my friends.

My friends who are regular customers so they went back a week or 2 later. They were completely bullied out by staff saying that their friends left a bad review last time (we did Not) and that they were not welcome in front of all the other customers and the staff were laughing behind the counter.

After posting the complaint over Facebook they removed it and banned any of us from posting further, the staff refused to provide the first name of the manager and head office are failing to respond. at least they can't remove this review!

Appalling behaviour, no complaint process in place. No customer service and completely immoral bullying customers out of the store. We have 50 odd more people telling us that they all had a bad experience. The food was alright but it not great it was simple. I am appalled that in total me and our friends spent just over £35 here and then they get this abuse from staff!
