Popped in on Saturday evening as we thought it was time (after months of not going out) to spread a little bit of wealth to a local restaurant. We were greeted by a nice enough chap and we sat at a central table for two. That's pretty much where it all went wrong. We expected within a minute or two for one of the waitress staff to at the very least acknowledge we were there, perhaps with a menu and to ask if we would like to order some drinks, but no. The two waitresses merrily walked past us at least four times without saying anything. On one occasion my partner dared to raise her hand as one of them passed out table but she was completely ignored, not even a sideways glance with a 'can you give me a minute'....just blanked her. By now (after maybe five minutes feeling we were invisible) the same girl again wandered past us (ignoring us) and began chatting to the guy presumably who runs the front of house, laughing about something on her phone! At ten minutes in we got up from the table and made to leave (we had both had enough of frankly sitting like plums being ignored in the middle of a restaurant). I told the chap on the way out their service was rubbish, especially as the place wasn't even half full (maybe that should have told us something). So we literally went next door to the Carribbean restaurant where upon being seated (by really friendly staff) we were given menus and asked if we would like to order drinks! So I cannot comment on the food (which for all we know might be good) but the staff seemed rude and disinterested in us. Make of this what you will but we definitely will not...

Amazing service and great atmosphere here. The food tastes so good here. So you won't be disappointed in flavour. I got the mixed shawarma with some rice and also Calamari and halloumi. The Calamari tasted good. Breading wasn't great since it really struggled with staying on the squid rings. Maybe they need to work on the batter a bit for that dish. The Halloumi side was 10/10 and the salad that came with both sides was also very tasty and flavourful, great vinaigrette! For the main, the mixed shawarma, the rice was nicely seasoned but overall very light on the flavour, it was quite subtle but nice. The sauces and the flavour of the meat mixed with the rice worked perfectly together. The chicken shawarma was really great and the lamb tasted good too but I think it may have been overcooked a bit, certain bits were quite hard and overall the lamb was really chewy. It did retain moisture though and the taste was good and didn't have any burned taste at all, I did at one point start choking on some tough sinew though. I was just fine though and was able to pull it back out of the back of my throat and chew it properly before enjoying (sorry for that mental image).

So overall I personally wouldn't say it was a bad experience. Actually the opposite and I would defo consider returning as the food was really nice. And it would've been 5*s if it wasn't for the Lamb and Calamari. My feedback would be, cook the lamb a bit less and find a way for that batter to hold onto the Calamari better.
