La Scala Cottingham — Restaurant in England

AVOID!!! HORRIBLE FOOD, AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. We are not local to the area and ordered here due to it being listed in the Raywell Hall lodge booklet (where we are staying). The food took nearly 2 hours to arrive and when it did, it was cold and appalling quality. Upon contacting the restaurant to pay (as the card machine wouldn’t work with the delivery driver) we discussed the issues and asked if they could amend the bill due to the quality of food and wait time. The manager shortly rang back and proceeded to argue stating that no one has ever complained about the food and we didn’t know what we were talking about!! He said he personally cooked our food and there was nothing wrong with it. As we have now discovered from previous reviews this is an absolute lie. The manager finally agreed to a discount after being rude and argumentative and the phone call ended with him putting the phone down on us. We’ve eaten in many Italian restaurants and this place should be ashamed to even call themselves Italian!!!! Had my order delivered nearly an hour late! the wrong mixed grill with no dip & limp salad cause it had been in there that long, 1 cherry tomato & 2 bits of cucumber with a bit of lettuce. Soggy luke warm chips for both of us & nothing like the picture you advertise...Rang you & I was told I couldn't have what I originally ordered & what I had paid for as you were too busy!!! I actually live about 5mins away in car so why you couldn't deliver what I ordered & paid for is beyond me. So I paid for something I didn't even get & I was told you were short staffed & at least 7 orders behind. If this is the case then you should suspend orders until you can fulfill them & employ more staff to deal with orders & check that they are sent out correctly. I was told the manager would ring me when he got back from a delivery as I wasn't happy with not getting what I ordered & been charged for. I'm still waiting over an hour & half later. Absolutely appalling...

UPDATE... Restaurant rang me and cooked the same again . This time it was the BOMB. Volcano was an eruption of tastes , .. Best Volcano pizza around Couple of quid dearer So what. WORTH EVERY PENNY So again this place has bent over backwards for there customers Show me any other place that will
