Arrived at lavianos at 7:30pm and now sat in my car writing this review at 8.18pm On first impressions the service was great we didn't booked and the owner sat us down within 2 minutes, the restaurant was quite busy we were offered drinks with 5 mins of sitting down and all was going well, the wine came and the young lady who served us was great and very friendly, we ordered are food 2 pasta dishes my girlfriends being the seafood pasta and mine being the chicken and mushroom dish, we were shocked after placing the order the food arrived within no more then 3 minutes with garlic bread to follow, the chicken and mushroom Was great but the seafood dish was boiling hot and was def warned up or pre made and there was so much sauce we and the seafood was not fresh at all my girlfriend couldn't even have a second taste and we had to swap dishes and iv been to many places (lock fyn, carlucios etc) and had a similar seafood dish so knew what to expect but I tried it and it was awful no taste and just boiling hot with lots of sauce and no flavour we were both very disappointed and we asked for the bill The owners son asked us how the food was in which we politely said we were not too happy with the seafood dish but the other dish was fine, he did mention his father was the owner and the food was always cooked fresh and was very defensive, there was no offer of any discount or comeback in future etc, just the words I hope to see you again, so overall I definitely would not recommend this restaurant on the food and the service was okay but I will definitely not...
Read moreExcellent food, good value, great atmosphere and wonderful staff. We went on a Monday evening at 17:00 (just as the restaurant opened), there were 5 of us (four adults and one child). We were greeted very warmly and shown to our table, the décor was modern, stylish and relaxing, we were the only ones in the restaurant but that was only because it had just opened, more and more customers came in, some bookings and some just walking in and this created a really nice atmosphere. The staff were attentive, friendly and relaxed, nothing was rushed. We started with some drinks, 3 of us had wine and 2 had fruit juices, I had a lovely Montepulciano which was the house red and was very impressed. Shortly after we ordered the starters of fried mozzarella (pictured) which me and my wife shared which I am glad we did as it was a big portion for a starter and we had some breads and olive oil. For mains I had the Laviano's pizza (pictured) which was mozzarella, spicy sausage, ham, smokey bacon and chicken. Others had the pasta dishes, chicken in mushroom sauce and my son had the kids pizza. For dessert my wife had the Bailey's cheesecake, I had the Selva Nera, a chocolate sponge soaked in liqueur with layers of sponge and Chantilly cream with clotted cream ice cream and my son had mango sorbet. We finished with coffees (I had the Caffe con Panna, espresso with cream and was smooth and velvety) and a limoncello. Was just over £180 for five of us with several drinks and was very worth the money. Can't wait to go back to try more...
Read moreFirst time in this restaurant. Occasion - sisters birthday. We arrived at 12 when they opened, on a Monday. (NYE) Within 30 minutes it was really busy so obviously a popular restaurant. The decor was tasteful and modern with a good selection of tables, small and large. We were offered drinks immediately and though not a huge range there was something for everyone including a good wine list. Prices we're good for a restaurant. The menu was large and features pizza, pasta, chicken dishes, steak and more (menu online) We shared a starter and this was brought out promptly, and a nice touch was serving the 1/2 dishes on their own plates, except the prawn cocktail where that wasn't possible so 2 plates were given with the dish. The main courses also came in a timely manner. The pizzas 4 of us ordered were all delicious with good portions of toppings on a hand made base. Both of the 2 pasta dishes served were apparently also delicious and certainly looked appetising. All being stuffed after this, we passed on desserts and coffees. In summary - great decor, great service and great food. Prices were typical of this type of restaurant with drinks actually marginally cheaper than some. Well...
